I have a great, fun new game mode idea!~???~

So I had this dream where I was playing Halo 4, yes it was amazing, and I was playing a gametype I had never played before. This gametype was created in my mind for my dream and it was awesome! What was this gametype you ask?

Duck Hunt!

So here’s how it works;
Two Teams
Each teammate has 1 life per round
And everybody is a one hit kill

Team 1: The Hunters
This team spawns in a strip on one side of the map and can only move left or right, a little movement forwards and back but not a ton, just like NES Duck Hunt.
These guys start with Battle Riffles and Shotguns (The “And Shotguns” part I would like 343 to see if it’s op)
These guys have normal movement and speed, but again everyone is 1 hit kill

Team 2: The Ducks
This team spawns on the other side of the map and must make it to the Hunter’s spawn and kill them.
These guys can move anywhere they’d like on the map but watch out for that head shot!
This team starts with only a sword, and again 1 hit kill.
However these guys can jump a little higher and run a little faster than the hunters.

The Map
The map will be medium sized but an open layout, however it will have cover for the “Ducks” to hide behind until they get to the Hunters.
I want to make sure there’s enough cover that the Ducks won’t get picked off immediately, but not to much that they will just rush and destroy the Hunters.

The Game
This will be a round based gametype.
Best of 3
Each team switches at the end of each round, so you may win 2/3 but you don’t always play as just the Ducks or just the Hunters, Hopefully you will get one of each.
Time limit fairly short because we don’t want the ducks just camping so that means about 3-5 minute rounds I guess.

That’s about all I could thing of.

If you have any suggestions, or just want to comment feel free to do so.

Let me know what you think

Also this is open to more Ideas from other people.

> Duck Hunt!

Is this to be in matchmaking?

I don’t know maybe a “just for fun” Matchmaking gametype, like griffball or zombies

Back On Reach I Created this Gamemode Named
Team Elimination” OR TE
Made from the realization that there were no 1 life gametypes.

This Gamemode Was by Far one of my friends and
random people’s favorite gametype. and would always fill up to 16/16 lobby’s

Alright so here’s how it goes.

There Are two teams.

Game setup-
*Both Teams Have 1 life
*there are 10 rounds
*There are low sheilds, (Example) 5 shots with AR would kill you.
*There we two melee’s to kill tho.
*The Team In which Wins the most rounds wins the game.
*8 minutes on the Clock
*5 Loadouts include
None of which could damage you faster if it was a headshot. (example) dmr, pistol, Etc…

  • 1 frag and 1 sticky.

This game type was so fun
Promoted Lots Of tactical sututations
This game mode Was great for competive players
And Ask for lots of skill.

Players would always ask me to play the gamemode.

Map setup-

The maps were mainly close quaters, Picture hall way with barriers but multiply flanking routes, This would allow players to manover around campers in order to take them down…

In this game Campers are not heard of because Team work is the main objective and without it the camper would die easly against the 2v1.

This game really promoted A team captain to lead the assault in each round. im telling you this was really a fun game mode And it should be used for Mlg or some sort of matchmaking.

I will make video’s of this gametype when halo4 realeases because i know it probably wont be put into matchmaking…

I actually made a custom game almost identical to this in Halo 3. The difference is that mine was an infection gametype where 1 or 2(depending on the number of players) humans would spawn in towers behind a big fence. The zombies would try and make their way across the field and over the fence with equipment and obstacles spawning as the game progressed to help them cross. We called it Border Patrol, but I think your idea has merit to it, maybe in a living dead sort of playlist or even in Action sack.
