I was playing a game on Haven, the Incineration Cannon spawned as a random drop. I kill a guy, he spawns on the cannon, and then comes back to kill me while I’m one shot from the previous battle. He won that way.
Apparently so is trolling the forums with the same old song and dance.
BTW - in old Halo you never killed someone just to have him respawn on the other side of the map right as the rockets respawn there and suddenly he has an advantage over you even though you just killed him.

Dude, you’re the same old song and dance defending a broken mechanic.
It’s pure LUCK to have a RANDOM weapon drop on you. A static weapon spawn a smart and skilled player can control and lock out the WORSE player.

The mechanic works exactly as intended.
Tired of being “surprised” by “random” ordinance drops? There’s a loadout option for that…

This loadout option would have been a great custom loadout for the competitive custom game I was playing. But, oh, that’s missing. Another broke thing in this game. I couldn’t have used it if I tried.
Even if I knew where it was at, the enemy spawned there, I was one shot. Rush over, get domed by his DMR, or get blasted by the cannon. Or just cower in a corner while he eventually finds me with the god cannon.
Why are you trying to defend a game mechanic that doesn’t reward skill?

This was in customs!? Why the hell didn’t you fix this “random OD problem” beforehand?! You know you can do that…right? Doesn’t sound like a very “competitive” custom game with all those “luck-based” mechanics that “don’t reward skill” though…
I wasn’t leader, and sorry, I tried to place just a little TINY incremental amount of faith in the game ONE MORE TIME that it’d work logically and reward better players.
Even in a 3 person lobby, it couldn’t do it.
So I’ve completely made up my mind this game is only for kids who need their hand held.
