I Have 60 Meg Upload and 5 Meg Download. My Upstream on my network status says WARNING In Red? I have the fastest Service From Charter Communications Cable a Brand New Sysco Doc 3.O Modem and a Linksys wrt310n Gigabite Router with a Wired Connection. I have Open Nat All My Ports are Opened but somehow I never Pull Host In Halo Reach or MW3. Is Charter Screwing me or what is going on Please Help Someone I have called charter out numerous times and they say everything is fine but in Reality It’s Not. I think there may be to many houses On My Node that is what one tech guy Told me.He said there are 600 houses on my Node? Can Someone that knows about Networking Please Help! Been dealing with forever and I need Someone who knows about Networking Bandwidth/Speed Please!!!

Your ‘speed’ is fine. Hell, my connection can barely reach 4.0mb/s down and 1.0mb/s up and I pull host sometimes. If someone has more knowledge on this they might correct me, but from that speedtest and the fact you have an open NAT, there is no reason why you shouldn’t get host.
The thing with MW3 is that it tries to compensate for the lag that people with sub-par connections get, meaning that people with great connections are at a disadvantage. I don’t think Reach does this, so I’d say you’re just unlucky. Unless we’re missing something.
You don’t try to download / upload things while gaming, right?
Yah I rarely Pull Host In MW3 It will pick Terrible Connections Over me almost everytime …I think that there Is something Wrong with My Cable Box Maybe Or there is Just too many people on my network? But that Doesnt explain why My Friends With Charter Basic Internet Pull Host Over Me a Few Miles Away? I hate to pay for Fast Internet For Nothing Charter Sucks I would Switch But Cant B/C Charter Is the Only Cable Provider In My Area.

Maybe I just have to Keep Calling Charter And Fix This Problem There Is No Reason My Upstream Should Say Warning. It used to Be Good and I always Pulled Host Then Went to Medium And Now Its Poor and I never Get Host.
Judging by both of those test results, you have an excellent Internet connection. The fact you’re not pulling host in Reach could be put down to the fact that the game chooses host based on history.
So if you had host in the past and it was laggy for others, you’re unlikely to get host in the future, regardless on how great your connection is now. Sucks, I know. But there isn’t much you can do about it.
As for the warning in Reach, it’s not based on current network setup, it’s an overview. So don’t worry about it, because it doesn’t change anything.

It has nothing to do with having host or anything. I think most people’s upstream is shown in red or yellow. The upstream doesn’t affect your MM but can affect your co-op campaign and firefight.
Calling your internet company and complaining won’t really do much except for not make you friends. 
I see Your Point But I shouldn’t have Speeds 6X Faster Than The Average Person And Rarely Get Host I don’t care so much about Hosting Games But when your Paying So Much Extra a Month and My friend Who Has Basic Charter Internet Gets Host Over Me Everytime is Unexplainable??!! Upload bandwith has nothing to do with who’s host. Period. Nothing is wrong with your connection.
I believe That You Need atleast 800 kbps almost 1 Meg To Host a Game. The Faster The Better Because More Data Can Be Sent Through thats Why If you Have a Bad Connection and are Hosting a Big Team Battle Game It Will Be Laggy. If you have Fast Upload No One Will Lag Depending On The MS Ping.
::shrugs:: You can believe what you want but my upload speed is pretty awful but I still end up with host occasionally and don’t have any major problems.
I Know A lot About Networking But Can’t Explain Whats Wrong With My internet with This Speed And Ping Test. I need an Expert From Bungie That Can Help Me or Explain to Me what I need To do to Fix This Problem. IT’s Gotta Be To Much Usuage In My Area.

If you know so much about networking, you’re welcome to try working with your ISP to figure things out however I sincerely doubt that you’ll find a solution satisfactory to your liking.
