I will say, I loved the MP in halo reach but I seriously got to ask, why does he have 2 flashlights on both sides in halo 5?, It feels irreverent and kinda ruins the helmet in a way.
“Why are there MP Spartans,” is a better question.
But yeah, the weird double flashlight mounts is weird.
The better to see in the dark. Is it 2 flashlights on both sides? I thought it was just 2 flashlights total.
Would be cool if the lights actually illuminated the area though. I think 343 should implement proper working lights in halo 6, throughout campaign, customs and multiplayer.
Yeah, I want to know that too. Why’d they remove the other attachment, same goes for Recon and Pilot as well, they’re both missing the “ear piece”.
It spoils it a bit, yes.
The lack of Mk5 B, JFO and hazop amongst others is worse though. But there’s no reason they can’t add these later.

Technically the Mark V (b) is here in the same way the Mk VII is here. Decimator is a design based on a book cover that called the armor on it Mark VII when it was clearly the same design as the Mark V (b). There are also the variants of MK V body armor from Reach that were w o enough by noble team.

Don’t. The decimator looks terrible and you know it, it not MkV B.
well, its the upgraded version of the MP in Halo: Reach thought those arent flashlights (at least in the Halo: Reach’s description) and yeah, the one without those looked better.

well, for the same reason normal military has them. You can hardly expect UNSC marine MP to keep SPARTANs at bay. That and for many other reasons like them being that extra security at bases when needed.
There is no answer other than because 343. Have you not seen some of their other remakes of helmets? I don’t know if they’re unintentionally making some of them wrong or if they’re just making them in their own vision.

The reason “normal military” has MP’s is because Military personnel fall under different laws and regulations than civilians.
You don’t have MP special forces for the simple reason that it’s a waste of resources. All that special training is wasted in such a basic role. If needed, a Spartan detachment could apprehend a criminal Spartan.
If you need extra security, just place Spartans there…
"Yeah, hi, I want to enroll in the Spartan program and become a super soldier capable of superhuman feats, qualified for ultra-dangerous missions, and go through super dangerous augmentations, compete in dangerous war games and training that all costs millions of dollars. Oh, and I don’t want to do any of that special forces stuff. I just want to arrest other Spartans. Cool."
-or-
“Let’s steal these children, spend years and unlimited resources on making them the ultimate super soldiers to carry out the most impossible missions. But don’t forget to make some of them MP’s with their own special MP armor. Just to police themselves.”
Double the flashlights, double the light
