You expected wrong, cause the Halo team, both Bungie and 343, have been basing their formula for each title on what they originally used for Halo:CE. The advancement of online features evolved that formula to allow for extra content after release but map count and gametypes have virtually been the same on launch. I even remember being on an island not ever having the DLC cause it cost $20 and could only play a few playlists. Once Forge comes out, Halo 5 will have as much as Halo 3 did, but with better Halo-esque gametypes and playability and much better Forging capabilities. (I don’t feel like I need to play Grifball to have fun now like I did in H3 lol)
Most video game forums have much negativity, it’s ALWAYS been that way. Mostly to complain about stuff they don’t like about the game, doesn’t mean that most people who play hate the game and complain about it. My view is that wether you’re here to complain or not, you still care enough about Halo to post on these forums. Personally, I love the new game.
I completely understand where you are coming from on this, I’ve been playing halo since Halo: CE and I’ve bloody loved every minute of it, but I will admit that a lot of people complain about things that are never going to change or that literally cannot be changed, players who enjoy the series will continues to enjoy it unless 343i makes halo into something its not (which probably will NEVER happen) and players who just spout nonsense and hate and toxicity towards both us and the game will continue to do so because they do not know how to do anything different, they say they hate the game and yet they continue to play it, so I’d say just count all the hate as just acts of being salty after losing a match or getting a bad REQ package and nothing actually serious. This is a game after all, even though this “game” has been a huge part of my life I understand not everybody feels how I feel about it and I will let them hate and rage as they please cause it does not affect me in any way notable.
So to all players, enjoy the game, enjoy the series, have fun with your friends, and just overall get out there and fight for the UNSC!

You are just uneducated to halo my friend. This is the -Yoink- halo launch ever 5 playlist! And there all ranked so we have lost casual players, because it’s to competitive. Mcc had a ruff start but it was better because it had so much more to offer. Halo 3 had the most playlist on launch out of all the halos.
Dont get me wrong the I do like this game…but it seams like they needed another 6 months to a year to come out with it. I mean its been a out a while now and they just did an update and brought us one -Yoinking!- playlist. My favorite playlist are doubles multi team and an MLg playlist and they don’t have 1. They are killing halo.
All games have there problems. For me H3 was the most polished of all the Halos. What is hard to take is that after all the Halos and the forums posts, 343/MS, can not fix simple problems like ranking up has more to do with your teammates than yourself or a teammate can still jump in front of your tank, get a betrayal and boot you.
This isn’t the only forum that has this problem. Literally every other game with a dedicated forum has a extremely vocal minority that likes to complain about everything. You just learn to tune it out, otherwise you’ll go insane.
I’m getting really tired of people complaining on here about the community. “You guys don’t like the game? I hate you guys.” Well guess what, no one cares. People have a right to voice their dissatisfaction. Stick to playing the game and stay off the forums if you can’t handle it. I personally think Halo 5 is mediocre at best. You’re still entitled to your opinion that it’s great. But don’t sit there and try to tell others what their opinions should be.
I understand your frustration, but take a look around you. The world we live in right now is different than it was back in the days of Reach. Back then, gamers played for the love of the game. Today, everyone’s obsessed with being the best…so when they’re not the best, they complain. Notice who complains and who doesn’t. We also happen to live in a much more complaint-heavy society. Everyone’s a critic now. EVERYONE. So you do you, bud. Get online and throw down with some of us real Halo fans, and let’s have a damn good time for 343i.
I like the game. I do hope they give us more chances at boosting the REQ points. Plus I don’t really see the point in a SR rank if it doesn’t unlock anything for increasing it. As for the people on the forums it the way it’s always been.

no no no here’s where you’re wrong. I don’t expect this at all. What I do expect is to AT LEAST have things that were in previous games. When 343 releases what i can reasonably call an incomplete game, they deserve to get called on it. Past halo games have had double to triple the amount of game types at launch, not to mention forge. Little to no effort was put into the game lobbies. There is no voting (which has been around for years). Not to mention being disrespected by the developers. If were honest, taking out split screen was obviously a ploy to sell more consoles/games. And adding micro transactions and a P2W system is just wrong. Even giving people the possibility of paying for an advantage is just greedy.
Believe me, I’m a huge fan of Halo like yourself. But I’m a fan because of the quality of past games. I won’t just give it a pass “because it’s Halo”. I’m not saying this is a bad game, but it is very disappointing. That being said, I want 343 to hear the community and hopefully improve next time.
