Basically you need to be holding 2 points to be scoring, now this is a rare time when I think Infinity Ward got it right. In Call of Duty’s Domination Gametype, that is designed so that the other team actually has a chance of coming back because they let the team with 1 point on the map score points because you earn points based on how many points on the map you control. For Strongholds, it’s like you’ve taken that gametype and just made it like Oddball in the way you score. I think this is broken and not really fun because the moment 1 team takes control of 2 points and gets a firm grip on them, it’s too much of a struggle for the losing team to catch up. If they take 1 base for 2 points, the winning team just take the losing teams other base and keeps denying them points. I think the scoring should be exactly like Call of Duty on this case, Each team gets points based on how many points on the map they control. And from now on I don’t care if I get banned from Multiplayer for doing this. I’m quitting from every Stronghold game until you give us a seperate Big Team Slayer playlist because that’s what I want to play but once Strongholds is picked, that’s all I get.
Basically what happens is you end up with 2 to 3 people at one stronghold, camping. -Yoink- that
I don’t like strongholds either, not because of the gametype itself but because it shows up too often and normal big team slayer almost never. (speaking of btb)
strongholds is great 4v4 and BTB. its better than CTF in my opinion because it forces people to move around and focuses on specific sections of the map.
Love it and hate it. Love it when playing with people that understand this is about captures and secures. Hate it when playing with people who think it’s team slayer and are after K/D.
all joking aside, this mode is purely based on teamwork. It can be frustrating when you get matched with bad teammates but I absolutely love this mode.
I love this game mode so much, you can have awesome comebacks because you can be down 99 - 0 and still win because as long if you have 2 of the 3 strongholds then you will be scoring.
I would say this is MORE balanced than domination, if red team has 95 and blue team has 50. As long as blue team has 2 bases they can win but in domination, that lead is to far that with just 1 point they’ll win. This won’t happen in strongholds.
I don’t care too much for it. You just got to be one of those guys who likes it. I just wish they would bring back KoTH and Crazy KoTH and Dominion and Extraction. That would solve a lot of it. Put those game types in their own game mode where it swaps between those capturepoint/objective game types. I hate how fricken arena has CTF and Breakout and Strongholds and slayer and BTB. Not fun, and refuse to play. While there at adding new game modes, they need to bring back Regicide and Head hunter and Extermination. They have waited too damn long to add new game modes. Yes, I’m pumped for more maps this week; but I would prefer more game modes. I’ve quit playing Halo 5, for now, because it gets too boring really fast. IDK how many maps they give us. Just slayer sucks and not playing what you want in arena suck worse and them not adding anything fun on the weekend playlist sucks bad. I will play the new maps for a few days then I’ll be back on Battlefront or something else. Because there are so many game modes that you rarely get bored, even if they are on the same few maps… for now.

It’s fine, I’ve had many comebacks. I just lost 150-148 last night. Why am I using this? At one point we were down 130-40. If the enemy could’ve scored with 1 base we would’ve had no chance at a comeback.
Love strongholds, hell I’m having trouble choosing which version I like more between basic Arena and BTB. Could it show up less often in BTB? Yes, but I still enjoy it. Especially on Basic and Guillotine.
I love it, but I wish more players would realize you don’t need to even push to their base to capture. Just keep mid and your base and you are good to go. Otherwise they start spawning in your base and take it, then it is back and forth like that.
