As a day one H:CE player I always thought the 50 rank system was a little over-coveted. The ELO system was always the obvious path forward to me. But I have to say after the rank reset, I have been screaming my head off playing through these matches with no mic randoms now. I was Onyx but these games are all coin flips. I play solo usually and at these low levels its unbearable to play. I’ve been nerd raging my way through matches and I just got my second Banhammer strike for 2:40:59 or something like that lol. I got a small one a couple hours ago. My recent one happened cuz I went to warm my coffee at the end of a match and it banned me for not moving . I bet it was even on the 49 mark.

i search solo all the time and randoms carried me to onyx in swat in my placement matches lol.
I like it, the actual system could do with some work but i like the refresh idea.
I kinda like it, I wanna keep my ranks but I also wanna re-do my placement.
Maybe resetting should be an option at the end of the season kind of like going prestige in cod. You could be like a 10x Onyx .

Yeah, it matters a ton. The whole experience of the game as far as I’m concerned. I seriously struggle to win consistently in this no mic random diamond division. In Onyx its so much funner because people are good and have mics. Its a whole different experience. I spend the whole 2 hour session with just a couple mics and the games are just awful. No one knows what they are doing and I’ve been matched up against parties a couple times. I’ve already rage quit my way out again. I was doing fine in Onyx now I’m back on the bottom rung of Diamond. I hate this with all my heart I hate it. I hate myself for nerd raging so much over this stupid game. I hate that I am relegated to playing in this division now. I don’t care a lick about showing off my rank. Don’t care a bit, just want decent games. That is why it matters. I can’t even enjoy this. I am fuming at this game right now. I think I might get mic banned. I feel like I’m playing with bots.

Sounds like you need to play with a team of people you know, rather than running solo at least for the moment. I understand your frustration with no mic players BUT if you want to win those matches you have to remember that they do not know what you know, take your time to explain YOUR strategy (which is hard when you are trying to win), because these guys might not even have a strategy outside of winning on pure skill. I know this isn’t going to be much concelation for your rage but I hope you can find your way back to Onyx.
If anything i just wish they would reset them every 3months rather then every single month. Not everyone has the free time to play enough Halo 5 to reach all the ranks they want in only a month. But if it was a actual season (3months) then people would have more time and it would be less stressful i think then having to deal with the 10 games qualification nonsense every 30days.
It’s done so that people can’t just get Onyx and sit there, they have to keep playing. I like the 1-50 system better but I remember people getting 50’s and never playing MM again. 343 wanted to make each month be a separate season so everyone had a chance to climb the leaderboards. What if someone got 2500 Onyx in the beginning and just sat there?
