I hate not having a Social playlist w/ objectives.

I suck at this game and am ranked Platinum 2 in Team Arena. My friend is ranked Onyx. We’ve been die-hard Halo fans since CE and our favorite gametypes have always been objectives: CTF, assault, oddball, strongholds, KotH, etc.

But the only possible way to play small-team (not Big Team) objective modes in H5 is Ranked Team Arena. And because of my friend’s rank, we always match with other high ranks and I never stand a chance. It really takes the fun out of what has always been my favorite franchise.

I don’t understand how Super Fiesta and Shotty Snipers are permanent social playlists but Core Play isn’t. Or why Quick Play isn’t a mix of Slayer and objective modes.

Is it because no one else in the Halo community like objectives? All other major shooters have unranked objective playlists, or at least mixed deathmatch/objective hoppers. It really blows my mind that Halo 5 doesn’t, especially because objectives have always had a big role in the pro community.

TL;DR: I hate sweating my balls off in Team Arena to play classic objective modes (CTF, etc.) that should be available in a permanent social playlist (besides Big Team).

I agree with you. I prefer to see a social slayer playlist just 5v5 and social objevtive 5v5 with all kinds of gametypes.

Tbh I e just learned to love BTB due to it being the only reliable playlist that supports objectives.bi love the maps and the chaos with objectives. I won’t turn back lol.

I love objective Gametypes myself I think they just don’t get the population other Gametypes get unfortunately. I’ve heard a lot of complaints about the matching in ranked playlists seems 2 be a problem. It also depends on how many people are playing that playlist also if only champions are playing it that’s who you match unfortunately. I like BTB a lot of chaos but its an objective playlist and personally I like super fiesta as it says chaos at its finest. Your best bet is 2 do customs or wait for the rotational 2 come around you want 2 play.

Super fiesta is a permanent playlist because it is always number 1 in terms of population.

Shotty snipes isn’t permanent but rather a preferred rotational which means it is in a shorter list of playlists that have high rotational population.

Quick play is only slayer as it is meant to be an easy landing ground for new players. Slayer is the easiest gametype to play and understand.

Core play didn’t have a good population so it is reduced to a rotational playlist. That means it will be coming up in the weeks to come.

Blame the userbase for not playing standard social objective modes. Currently we have rotational king which could do well. If more players wanted social objective then they would play those lists and they would be populated enough for 343 to warrant it as a permanent gametype.

Yeah. I think they should at least have one rotating playlist with an obj!

I must agree that this would be a good idea.

Social is fun, ranked is fun but sweaty asf sometimes

And your a baller at it too. I have seen you regularly on plays of the week. I think you had 1 or 2 clips on top 10 plays of the year if I am not mistaken.

Roaming king is a ton of fun and I would definitely consider that Objective based playlist. But I get it. I think part of the reason quick play is Slayer only is because people like to warm up their shot a little before playing any ranked that night. Also Social isn’t immune to sweat. I think some of the toughest matches I played last week were Roaming King.

I agree with OP. I wish core play was always available. Actually, I don’t mind ranked arena, but several of my friends don’t like arena so I have to play solo, and I hate playing ranked anything solo. You get down by a couple of points and teammates start quitting. So many times, when playing with a full fireteam, we can turn it around. But, when you are down a man it gets a lot harder to turn things around.

Same, though I’d only use it for a warm up before going into Arena. In the past I’d use Arena to warm up for HCS. I can’t do that now so I have to go to customs.

Core Play should absolutely be a permanent playlist. It’s ridiculous that it isn’t, especially since they changed ranked Team Arena to the HCS version, which means that it’s literally impossible for anyone to play any objective games according to Halo 5’s original vision.
