I hate how team oriented this game is now T_T

Let me start off by saying I -Yoinking!- love this game, been a longtime Halo fan, my favorite one being 2. Okay, Infinity Slayer is IMPOSSIBLE to play unless you have a group of friends to play with…Well I don’t. I can’t play a game of ISlayer without getting demolished by a group of 4 enemies. In the past Halo games you could play with randoms and go positive 20 30 or 40, now I can’t even get one good game. Does anyone know how to do good with a bunch of baddies as teammates in ISlayer? I sure don’t.

I’m having this problem too. My random teammates have no concept of teammwork or map control. I tend to find myself often pushing alone and getting wrecked, or staying back with the team where it just becomes a shooting gallery for the enemies.

Positive 40 with randoms in Team Slayer - ha, ha, ha, ha. Joke Thread

That’s the problem with modern games these days. You honestly can’t hope to do well, unless you run with some friends or decent people you meet online.

I hid in a corner with a Boltshot and a Sword and used up every drop of ammo I could find on the map. 28-0 =D

Does anyone have any tips on how to do well with bad teammates?

If you know you’re gonna lose, don’t leave. Equip a dmr, follow the bad teammates around and steal their kills/use them as meatshields. Never fails.

Talk to them and maybe coach them?

I don’t get the problem. It doesn’t matter if you lose. You get XP either way. I’m a 38 and don’t play with friends. I would rather play with friends though cause it’s more fun :).

Unless you’re able to win 1v4s or heck 1v3s and 1v2s often, you’re kinda out of luck. I definitely tried to carry a team, but when they often give 200-300 points to the enemy for every 100 points you get it’s almost impossible.

Every team I get they mindlessly walk into the middle of the map and they push where there are 4 enemies grouped up. I need help. I don’t have fun when all I do is die. Any other tips?

Halo has always been a team oriented game, if you don’t like it I would suggest you play a FFA playlist.

Funny, I said the same thing when Halo 3 came out.

If you’re teammates aren’t going to be tactical or anything, you’re only option is to assist them and try to keep them alive.

the maps in infinity slayer are way too small. halo 3 had relatively huge maps compared to abandon or haven where you can literally see every spawn point in the middle of the map. anyone remember zanzabar? that map would only be for btb in halo4.

Never as team oriented as 4. The teamshot is like the biggest thing in this game now.

team work is nice, but there is no lone wolf FFA, or team doubles play list.

some people enjoy winning.

ANYBODY?!

If you’re looking for a group of friends, I strongly recommend you look for a Halo-oriented clan/guild/group. Trust me. I did this, and it’s been a blast.

I have trouble with random teammates as well. When I get with randoms, I usually follow some of them around and we steal each other’s kills. If the enemy is in a party, the best thing to do is to not initiate battles when you are outnumbered. I usually do well with overall decent teammates, but sometimes it becomes impossible in maps such as Haven or Abandon. The enemy team usually gathers in areas that are “popular” and since I have no coordination with my team they almost always run in and die. This makes it difficult for me since I refuse to initiate when I am outnumbered, unless I have no hope of escaping.

What I usually do is run around and get assists/kills randomly while avoiding 1v2s and 1v3s. Then I wait for weapon spawns and ordinances to appear so I can use power weapons to solo out enemies and kill them. However, this almost never works in maps like Abandon since large groups of people like to gather in the center tower at the top, which is really annoying for me since I avoid “suicide-killing”. In situations like these I hope for good ordinances like Damage Boost and Sniper Rifles to solo enemies and get away without dying. This kind of strategy usually lets me end up doing well, and I rarely ever go negative even if my team isn’t very good.

So the point of this thread is to say how mad you are at how much of a team game Halo is. You’re not suppose to run into groups of the enemy, and you’re suppose to co-ordinate based on where your teammates are, random or not, they have cursors on their head and you should know when you are out of position.
