I HATE H5s MECHANICS. ART STYLE TOO...

343 wants to put their own spin on the art I think, but I highly dislike their spin.

The mechanics are very fluid, almost as much as Destiny’s are, but they feel foreign to Halo. I don’t want to clamber, I don’t want to pop shields by body slamming people, and I certainly don’t want to have to put my gun down to move faster. Raising the movement speed is so much simpler and more appealing than having sprint return. As for the art style, there is no sugar-coating the issue. The games before Halo 4 had a much better look to them.

I believe that Halo 2 Anniversary is what 343 should strive to base future Halos off of. It looks and sounds phenomenal, and the classic, simple gameplay of Halo 2 classic remained unchanged.

Honestly the “doesn’t belong to Halo” argument makes me sleepy…
sorry for double posting above.

One of the things you mentioned bugged me so much in Halo 4 as well.

Explosions, THEY’RE PATHETIC in Halo 4, and 5. The lack of debris, and when there is any, it almost immediately despawns. Like, I honestly miss seeing the Halo battlefield becoming full of Spartan Body’s, blown up ghosts, warthogs, mongeese parts etc, everywhere. Like… that was a huge deal to me. And they did seem to improve on it a bit when WZFF came out but not enough.

Now, I’m not going to call 343 out on it, seeing as I don’t know how much the Xbox one could really handle all of those particles happening at once. But as far as halo 4 goes on the 360, look at Halo 3 compared to Halo 4. Halo 3 is so much more beautiful artistically, and environmentally, including textures. Halo 4 did have some nice textures at some points, but like… it really wasn’t all that gorgeous.

sigh rant over.

I remember in one of the Act mans videos he was talking about how in H3 the phantom explosions were amazing and really detailed and in 4 and 5 its like (poof) phantom gone.

(1) In halo 3 if you’re being shot from behind then you can just face your opponent and attempt to outsmart him/her when in halo 5 you can just run for cover like a little -Yoink-. The Spartan abilities give halo a modern touch by turning it into a gamer if fps rather than a halo game. How does halo 5 look and feel like a halo game? The only “HALO” thing about halo 5 is that it has the name halo on the cover. (2) The only Spartan ability that should stay should be clambering. The rest don’t belong in a halo game. (3) Oh did I forget to mention the story…

Are opinions not allowed?

I hate the spawn killing. I hate having my legendary vehicle get blown to bits instantly in firefight because enemies abruptly spawns on top of it. I hate the luck-based warzone boss fights. I hate spawning a req and not spawning with the req. I hate dying at spawn in Breakout. I hate using a legendary boost and getting put into a game seconds from loss. I hate firefight generators getting destroyed instantly.

No, they are perfectly fine, it’s just that, in my opinion, he appears to be stating his opinion as if it were fact.

It sounds like you’re not a big fan of this game.

Art style? Yeah, I can understand that, even though I’m fine with it. Mechanics? I quite like H5’s.

The mcc halo 3 is the first verison of the game not the newest patch, and 343 watered down the customisation in the game. You also have to lead your shots twice as much in the xbone verson. You should play the orginal verson and then you will say different

I agree artstyle was way better in the old games. So were the mechanics even though I think some elements i H5 are cool (like ground pound and clamber). I hate spartan charge though!! Plus they should bring standard radar range back.

Its actually impossible when your enemies are invincible and they have 100% accuracy… i feel you bro :frowning:

I know right! Seriously, go back and Play the first level of Halo 4 and look how POORLY detailed the phantoms are. And then go play the first level of Halo 3… and that’ll just show you how poor texturing was in Halo 4. I really don’t understand why people say it was better looking than Halo 3… like… even when you’re looking down as Master Chief looking at your legs, you can see how poor the textures are on your him. In Halo 3, you can’t see any texture flaws, it was perfectly done. The funny thing is, in one of the vidocs for Halo 4, they were saying how they spent more money texturing Master Chief than anyone else in the campaign. … Yeeaaah…the textures just I don’t even know. Like the more I think about it – and forgive me for my continual ranting, but Halo 1… the Spirits… like, that texturing was incredible for it’s time, and then you get Halo 4, lol.

I actually like the game despite those flaws. Luck sometimes work in my favor, but it can’t always be like that. If I’m not the lucky one, someone else is… except for those firefight generators.

I have similar feelings, I much prefer the older art style and movement mechanics.

Firefight is just rage inducing overall.
