My local Gamestation opened up the game to us a month early, and boy was it fun. I went there with my brother and some of my friends. We got to play a game of Team Slayer, on the map Solace, with a Custom loadout which included the Forerunner Lightrifle and Boltshot. I think it plays incredibly well and still feels like Halo, despite the fact that it’s created by 343 Industries instead of Bungie.
The store’s staff were even gracious enough to take pictures of the event, subsequently uploading them to the internet:

So yeah, are any of you going to play Halo 4 before release? Or have you already done so? Please leave a comment a below.
Awesome dude!
I’ll be playing Halo 4 at the First Look event this weekend! Can’t wait!
Tell us more, tell us more!
How did it feel?
Were the abilities over-powerful?
Did it feel more like a sequel to Halo 3 (good) or Reach (not so good lol)?
Lucky! None of the cool events with Halo 4 are ever close enough that I can go. I can’t wait until it comes out!
GASP someone voted that he doesn’t plan on playing it at all!
> Tell us more, tell us more!
I didn’t plan on taking questions (partially because I’m not good at answering them), but if you insist. I’ll try to be as honest and as informative as I possibly can.
> How did it feel?
Pretty good. It’s must faster paced than the previous games, but still manages to retain that Halo ‘feel’ and plays pretty well. I didn’t get to try out everything, but I actually liked some of the new additions like Promethean Vision and Kill-cams; they weren’t anywhere near as bad as I thought they would be worked on.
Still, it looks like some of the weapons spawns/drops could be improved. That’s something to work on.
> Were the abilities over-powerful?
I didn’t get to try out them all. But from what I played, none of them seemed to damage or dominate maps like Reach did. I largely used Promethean vision, and can fill you in on that. Just think of it as a slightly better version of the motion tracker. It isn’t anywhere near as bad as people thought it would be.
But don’t get me wrong, as it has been stated, it will come in handy for newer players and casual, who don’t really use the motion tracker to its full potential. But I think pros will prefer to use something else more rewarding — rather than use a colorful substitute for their motion trackers.
> Did it feel more like a sequel to Halo 3 (good) or Reach (not so good lol)?
Overall I think it plays more similarly to games Halo 3 than Halo: Reach. It’s much faster paced and your character jumps higher. I believe it can be best described as being similar to Halo 2 and Halo 3, but with the inclusion of some elements from Halo: Reach. Though this time they feel more fitting, natural, and better implemented than when they were introduced in Reach.

Probably a troll…
OP: Nice. Good to hear that some people are getting to try out the game.
Cool beans, but MC looks depressed to me :[
