I got the flosom prison blues

You know what I miss about classic Halo 3? The crazy Foundry maps. The prison escape and zombie mall maps were awesome and I killed SO much time in customs with my friends AND in online matches. It was a blast!!

Don’t you guys miss those awesome and unique maps?

I have so many fond memories of playing custom games back in the days of Halo 3 & Reach and custom games are mostly the reason why I even boot up Halo nowadays, It’s going to be fun to see what crazy things people make with Infinite’s sandbox but hopefully this time around we can get a custom games browser if not at launch then soon after, that feature really has been a boon for the customs community.

Ngl 5 didnt have a lot of really good maps. Some were really cool but It didn’t have the same feelings ya know?

I don’t see how this is related to Infinite… I mean, you can make those kinds of maps in halo 5. Pretty sure in Reach and Halo 4 it was possible too.
In fact, people have gone out of their way to remake foundry just to remake those maps

No it’s not a matter of Foundry, it’s a matter of how forge has fallen and custom maps have degraded over the course of the games.

It’s my hope that Halo infinite will have the best forge system, and allow us to “RECREATE” these things and ideas to a better depth and with more detail.

i’m sure we will get more detail and better depth to the forging system and similar to H5 Forge.

I loved foundry so much too.

I think how they present the Custom Matchmaking to players will be more important than the quality of a Forge feature in Infinite, in terms of the recreation of awesome forge maps and players using them. Map makers will find ways around a bad Forge mode, but to get people to use them and play them, you need a robust system that connects players and maps, and is user-friendly.
So many custom game browsers in other shooters (valve games TF2 and CS come to mind, Battlefield too) typically work well but can be very messy to look at and are probably a turn-off for the casual gamer. Even the MCC custom game browser is rough to look at, and in my experience, really doesn’t work that well. I would hope Infinite has a better system, or else I don’t see too many people playing custom games and using forge maps.

You serious? Forge and custom games is insanely powerful if you put the effort into it.
Check this out: Metropolis Bridgeyou can’t do stuff like this in halo 3.

Those are fantastic! DGMW! They just feel so… Pasty??? In reach, 4 and 3 the assets were very much in game assets.

It’s my hope that the blocks and items skins will be a little more… Refined? Look, I have links home from ocarina. I have some cool preset vehicles. And a great collection of maps. But they feel… like a Lego set rather then a halo map ya dig?

Like I’m playing with mega block Spartans. And I’m not dissing the creators of these maps they did amazing jobs and deserve credit for the time and creativity.

But think of how gorgeous these maps would be if the skins were more akin to the assets of the games! Imagine the stories we could create with AI’s if we can place them too? Spartan ops was a cool idea but people can tell a heck of a story with some scripting and world manipulation. If vehicle welding is also still there it will be nuts.

I talked about this with another person to. Imagine good old Xbox Battlefront 2 ship to ship battles with zone conquest gametype. BTB, ships flying around. Cruiser internals would be nuts! Before i rant any further as in an obvious fanboy for the possibility of forge; I’ll simply restate that the LOOK of forge could be more “World like” then “Mega blocks”.
