Sarcasm aside, anyone else think the mantis stomp is really underwhelming now considering it can be boarded from any side?
Not to mention the mantis stomp does hardly any damage AND it’s stomp range is horrible in comparison to Halo 4’s mantis
But yea, the any side thing makes stomping even more useless

Halo 4 Mantis stomp was reliable and effective, not OP. I should be able to step on a puny Spartan sprinting towards my Mantis with no ease.
The only thing OP about H4 Mantis was that it couldn’t be boarded from the front. Everything else about the Mantis was perfect.

That’s a lot of exaggeration there bud. The Stomp was the only thing protecting you from getting boarded and easily ridding of Charging Ghosts. War Mech’s have always been in Halo. This Mantis is Halo 5? It’s pitiful compared to what it should be.

More or less Op. The forums was full of complaints of it being op in Halo 4.

cough cough Cyclops…
Actually, the Cyclops mechs were the inspiration for the Mjolnir armor and scaled down the size to fit for infantry use. Without these ‘mechs’, there would be no armor for Master Chief.
Someone please post a link of them doing something good with the mantis stomp ability.
I think the only mantis with an effective stomp is the hannibal since it can emp vehicles.
At least give it knockback or something, ya know? I’m not asking for a OHK, I’m asking for defense against a charging spartan with three damn speedboosts.

Yeah, Mantis isn’t very powerful unless you’ve got one of the variations, like Oni or Hannibal.
Stomp is worthless, chaingun takes a lot of shots to bring down an enemy, able to be boarded from the side. There are problems with it, but I’m more of a fan of it being underpowered than overpowered.

I think what it should be is like the ground pound but bigger. If you directly got stomped or was near its toes, you will be killed while you would be knocked back with your shields gone if you weren’t near the foot. How big the ring, idk LOL
