I got my 60 bucks back! Here's how(YouShouldToo)

If you downloaded the game instead of buying a retail copy, it is possible to retrieve your hard earned $60 and spend it on something that doesn’t fill you with incommunicable grief. Here’s how;

  • Log in at support.xbox.com , - Click on “billing,” - Scroll down and click “contact us,” - Click on “billing” again, then “other,” - Then scroll down and use the online chat. In the box asking why you’re contacting support, say you want a refund for a game that does not work as advertised. That the bugs and broken functionality are well documented on various reputable spots around the web. If necessary, supply a link to the gamespot review which honestly covers the brokenness and gave the game a 6 because of it. Explain that the update did not work, it is an insult at this point and you just want your money back, you’re not content waiting for more “updates.”

My experience was hassle free. I hope yours is, too. The money went back to my card immediately. If your experience is worse & they try to stonewall you, be assertive and get that cash back. Then encourage others who are unhappy with the game to do so as well. For the 343 apologists who think this is whining; I’m glad that you’re having a good time, but there are many of us who are [justifiably] unhappy with this product and want to play something else with that money.

Anyhow, I hope that helps at least one other person!

I think i will just wait until its fixed. I know the matchmaking is a total FU*K up but still its an awesome game.

I’d rather use that money for a different game and maybe pick MCC back up next year. I don’t like the trend of encouraging developers to put out alpha-build crap and hope they fix it later. I respect your decision to wait it out. But for those of us who find this to be a reprehensible game development trend, getting the moolah back to invest in more reputable products is more consistent with our consumer values.

Also, I’ve supported this franchise since it’s inception. I just have to draw the line somewhere. MCC is that line, lol. I can’t ethically put my dollar behind this.

You played Halo on PC before it came out on Xbox, did you? That’s an interesting story, tell us more…

I had considered returning the game but after this update, I’m convinced it’ll all be fixed soon. Seems really stupid to return the game now that it’s getting fixed.

LMFAO!

Eep, my bad!

That is still a testament to how long I’ve been pumping money into the franchise ; for so long that I forget or mix up which one I was experiencing first.

::falls and breaks hip:::

Whatever I’ve spent a lot of money on collectors ed. of the games that a repurchase of $60 is no big deal unlike other games this will get worked out.Getting all worked up is pointless have a lil faith :slight_smile:

why would anyone return this game when the halo 5 beta is free with it? makes no sense if you REALLY want to return it that bad just wait till after the beta… I’m sure there’s plenty of people doing just that.

Why should I care about a halo 5 beta after this MCC debacle being so unplayable that I’ve returned it? I’m not buying anything else from 343. I’m not paying 60 bucks to alpha test this and beta test halo 5.

That’s your prerogative. If you like paying for broken sh*t and accept the trend in releasing unplayable garbage and hoping to fix via patches over the course of months, that’s fine. I don’t. Neither do the several other people that have been blowing up the forums in disgust. Sixty bucks is a lot of gas money, dude. Or an investment for the month in a DIFFERENT game that you can play that doesn’t incite the desire to collectively punch a development team in the teeth.

Keep prayin’ for that fix. It’s never stupid to return something that is broken or defective. It’s one of your rights as a consumer.
