I recommend messaging snickerdoodle with a polite request. There’s a chance she’ll see your thread anyway, but a message is faster and more reliable as she’s the go-to for this sort of thing.
Make sure to include the post and evidence to confirm it’s yours (like you’ve done here) along with your Xbox Live gamertag (chances are it’s the one you’re using for the forum, but it’s good to clarify).
Were you featured in a Community Spotlight or just their Instagram? I don’t know if being featured on their Instagram alone will grant you the skin, so it might be smart to confirm that with her as well.

Getting featured on instagram means your work is on twitter and xbox. That’s how I got my feature. So yes, he should be able to get his.

A broad range of Halo-related things qualify including screenshots, artwork, montages, videos, costumes, etc. If it’s something you’ve made involving Halo you’ll generally be in with a chance, and you can look through older Halo Community Spotlights for examples.

I would; it’s what I did when I was featured and I got a response and the badge in a couple of hours.
Link the Spotlight you were featured in along with evidence that it’s your content and you should be good.

I don’t know for absolute certainty but if you got the Fire Unicorn rewards then I can only assume you’ve earnt the badge too—wouldn’t make much sense otherwise, but snickerdoodle knows more than me.
In that case I’d include whatever post it’s in in the message.
