I got done with the Carbine commendation

As the title says, I got done with it’s commendation. And I am glad to even use the Carbine. My favorite weapon from Halo 2, I sadly have to put down until I get the other loadout commendations.

Enough of me, what do you guys think of the Carbine?

I use it all the time. Currently 6/7 on the commendation.

I love it. I think it should take one less shot for a kill though, but I’m still very effective with it.

The Carbine excels at mid-range as it should, and it is just so much fun to use! Carbine has to be one of my favourite weapons in Halo history, and I’m glad to see that it is back in Halo 4.

Although the Carbine is a tad weaker than other precision weapons in this game, the rapid-fire capabilities and the ‘fear factor’ that causes enemies to panic and miss their shots more than makes up for it

CARBINE FTW!

Congrats that’s not an easy feat especially since I think it takes more skill to use than any of the other weapons in the game.

I think I’m 4/7. I like the carbine, great to use on FFA regicide. I try to use all mid range weapons equally but I use the DMR and BR less since this those are almost complete.

Probably my favorite rifle, though I don’t use it much lately since I’m trying to master Dominion and as such need a DMR for the big maps.

I like the Carbine, but I’m not nearly skilled enough to use it and actually get kills. I think it really should be buffed a bit. As it is, it’s the weakest of the starting rifles.

I’ve loved that weapon since Halo 2.

I haven’t used it much, however, as I am trying to master the UNSC weapons first.

Still, I have it to tier 5 within just a few nights of use.

Currently 5/7 with it. It was once my most used weapon. I think it takes much more effort to kill with than any other precision. I’d be happy with a 7sk.

Thanks, it was a huge pain to get it maxed out. But in the end, I love the Carbine more than the other rifles.

I’ve been using it a lot recently instead of the dmr and have noticed its ups and downs. It fires projectiles, not hitscans, so you need to lead your shots a bit. Although it can kill just as fast as a dmr, u physically need to pull R more, leading to more natural error. It’s also an ammo guzzler. On the flip side it has no bloom and no recoil at all. I’ve found it to be an excellent janitorial gun. You get clean up kills here and there you might not have with say the dmr. In just a straight mono y mono fight though, I would be more comfortable with a br or dmr

I love the carbine.

It isn’t my favorite rifle, but it’s definitely a lot of fun to use and satisfying to kill with. It still just saddens me that it loses to the DMR at closer ranges. Can’t wait to complete it. About half way through 6/7.

The Carbine actually does have a bit of bloom that isn’t displayed for you, which makes absolutely no sense. A precision weapon where it’s purpose is to fire fast, has bloom on it. I’ve lost several kills to it at medium-ish distances. Do some tests in a custom game against a big and flat wall if you don’t believe me. Bloom is there. :frowning: I’ve had some rage moments when trying to finish a kill and the shot just feels like not hitting the head while my reticle is there.

A worthy buff for the weapon balancing TU besides making it a 7sk, would be to get rid of the bloom on it.

It’s not bloom. It’s just that the reticule is a little bigger than others. The circle inside the circle is not nearly as small and accurate as the br or dmr. So that’s just the spread of the shots causing you to miss. I hate getting headshots in the back of the head with the Carbine.

Before release, the circle was smaller.

Carbine should be made a little more powerful. It’s definatly weaker than the other starting precision weapons.

It’s pretty enjoyable.

But I wish it had bleedthrough not to mention a clear blue zoom screen (the green one is atrocious).

How come only the burst weapons get bleedthrough? I can understand DMR but not giving it to the Carbine was harsh.

My highest loadout weapon commendation is for the BR, and I have 5/7 for that.
I have 0 kills with all Covenant and Forerunner loadout weapons, but I still think that the ROF on the Carbine almost compensates for its lack of damage.

Mine is currently at 4/7, but I’m alternating between the LR and Carbine when I bother playing. Once one goes up a level, I switch to the other until that goes up and the cycle continues

It’s epic

Technically has the second quickest time to kill of the precisions behind the scoped lightrifle but almost never works like that online. Slowest average time to kill of the precision rifles from what I’ve seen. Less accurate than the others too; it has a noticeable spread at range. I’ve heard it technically gets slightly more magnetism than the other rifles, but it feels like that’s cancelled out by it being more prone to miss due to its spread and the quick ROF making it more susceptible to dropped shots on bad connections. I’ve only seen a handful of players utilize it effectively; it’s the worst precision in practice for the vast majority of players. The people I’ve seen using it are either commendation grinding, newer players that don’t know better, or skilled enough that it doesn’t really make a difference for them. It’s a cool weapon, but I wish it was useful like it was in H2/3. You could actually beat BR users in 1v1s with the slightly quicker time to kill.
