Can you still talk to people in a party?
You can get voice banned for being continually muted… It isn’t really a big deal, you just can’t talk to anyone.

i never got banned from halo 4 lucky for me but i’ll give you tips if you want alot more XP play spartan ops complete the challenges every week and fast track like i did when i have the tv muted. now is that helpful to you?

Do you use kinect as a mic or play music in the back ground?
i know a lot of people who mute others for that straight away

just turn off voice chat simple as that
I highly doubt they said they muted you for no reason. In all seriousness you can’t really do anything about it and it’s not that bad just a week without talking to people on XBL. Also, like other people said if you have a kinect try to avoid using it when there is a lot of background noise.

Yep, same here. Don’t even own a mic (or Kinect) and got the voice ban. Pretty sure H4’s ban hammer is broke.

It’s based on how many players have muted you in-game.
- There appears to be no human oversight on the system.
- There is no appeals process.
- Mutes aren’t “validated.” If you’re muted while in Party Chat, for example, that still counts.
- The system is publicly-known to others, and therefore abused, causing false-positives.
- Audio options are underadvertised, so people misuse mutes, causing false-positives.
- All of these problems were known since Reach.
Frankly, I have no idea why 343i’s still using this system.
I have my audio set to friends and party only. But if a random gets stuck in my team, and they’re using a Kinect mic. and I’m hearing all of the game again 2 seconds later through that person’s feedback, they’re getting muted.
Don’t use Kinect for FPS.
Why do people even get banned for this? I mute people all the time, but that doesn’t mean I want them punished, I just personally don’t want to hear them, which is perfectly fixed when I mute them. This sounds like a horrible system that punishes people for no reason.
