Ive been playing halo since forever and this is the first time this happened to me. i really thought the people who posted saying the servers sucked were just angry cus they quit and got banned.
i have had a number of occasions where the internet connection/server… whatever… has booted me back to the menus but have not been banned yet
happened 5 times in a row once but thats not my fault i have best internet connection possible in my area
i still get alot of games where others are glitching around and hard to kill… there one minute and gone the next its frustrating but still the fun outweighs the glitching

Are you banned because servers are trash? or because you don’t know what you’re doing when it comes to networking?
Who is your ISP? what’s your bandwidth? have any packet loss? are you using port forwarding? do you have multiple xbox 1’s on the same internet connection? Have you considered any of these issues? or are you just gonna stick with “I blame the servers”?
…because i haven’t had any issues, I haven’t been banned, and I don’t have welfare internet…

Because people think it’s okay to quit a game just because (insert non-sense reason for quitting here), and ruin the game for the rest of the players in the game

Of course he hasn’t done any of these things. His Isp told him his internet was perfect. Meanwhile I play on a 6Mb down, 1Mb up and have zero issues.

Yea this is the first time it has done that to me. Everything was perfect before so idk why it was doing that. Battlefield servers never do that to me and they run with 64 players at a time.
Maybe i over reacted in my title because these people are replying with essays.
gettting dropped to menu is the worst. my brother in law and i were playing all week and he got dropped several times during matchmaking
Well your ban should be over by the time they fix them so don’t worry. It’s not like you would have been able to play anyways.

Well if this is the first I’d wait it out. As far as I know there’s never been a perfect server in video games and sometimes a server needs maintenance and worked on to get fixed. There’s also the possibility that it could be your internet acting up as well. My internet is great most of the time but here and there it’ll have it’s bad days.

It wasn’t this way at the games launch. I had no lag at all and I have a bad connection in my basement but I never had lag but now I occasionally experience game breaking lag and In every game I get small amounts of lag.
Welcome to my world. I always get kicked out of games and they count as DNF’s. I’m wired directly to my Asus RT-AC68u and have a download speed of 28 mpbs and an upload of 7 mpbs. It is not your connection that is the issue. I have never been kicked out of any other online game before. It’s such BS when you use your legendary boost and get kicked out of a game when you’re about to win and get banned for it without being able to do anything about it.

For the rest of us, if Xbox live is working and claims we have a strong singal and we still get booted, it’s logical to assume the err is on the side of 343i’s servers.
If it keeps booting you why do you keep searching? Hard reset your Xbox and reset your router make sure it’s not on your end. Also if it’s not you end and you keep connecting and disconnecting it your fault. After a few gets if it’s not working try another playlist or wait a day or two. Hate to break it to you but it’s not a perfect world were everything works 100% of the time.

Okay. I see your point about things not working 100% of the time.
with that being established, until it does work 100% of the time, or close to, shouldn’t penalizing players be put on hold? At the very least, get rid of the “ban hammer”. I’m on a 3 hour ban now because of lag and poor connection issues.

I don’t think so because it may only be a localized problem. It’s unfortunate that disconnects count as quits but if they didn’t people would exploit that by just turning off their modems or routers to “not quit”… I have disconnected from games so yes I know it happens. Luckily it happens very rarely to me so I have never been banned. But if I was connecting and disconnecting a lot I would be sure not to keep doing because I know they count as quits.

With all the faults MCC had, I still never got randomly disconnected from a game. So in that aspect, you could say it worked 100% of the time.

I know it seems logical, but it isn’t. Speed has extremely little to do with online games. If your ports are forwarded and you aren’t set to instant on, you won’t have problems. unless your sister is streaming movies on the same connection.

Yea my buddy got banned for 2.5 hours sunday morning. We normally do halo sunday mornings. We really had to use restroom lol and afk out of game. Funny thing is we still easily won the 3v4. But the ban ruined halo sunday morning. Thanks 343 - hope it really “improved” the play experience of all those whiny cry babies about quitters. F-em.
