I’ve got an idea that could replace the current version of the camo AA in Halo 4 that could make it better( and without abusing it).
As you guys know, the current camo AA lasts about 10 seconds(just guessing) and puts blue dots on everyone’s radars, and there is a glitch when you crouch nothing pops up on the radars.
So here is my idea, why not make the camo AA like the camo in Halo 2’s campaign on legendary?
If you are not familiar, the camo is used in Halo 2’s campaign when you play as the Arbiter. On easy, your camo last for a little while, but on legendary it last for about 3-4 seconds, and once you shoot, your camo is gone and must recharge. It would allow people that use camo to still turn invisible and you would be completely hidden on radar. I think this would solve everyone’s hate for the AA and some people could still use it efficiently.
Like it? Hate it? Discuss.
Or they could just take it out of the loadouts and put it as a pick up on the map.

That’s not a glitch…that is how it worked on Halo Reach too! And, so it shouldn’t show up! Why? Because even without AC, when you crouch no one shows up…why should AC user be penalized for doing what anyone can do and not show up?

I would prefer that too, but it looks like it is here to stay, for now…

You and others are going to be horribly disappointed then. AC is not AL! AC is here to stay and will be in future Halos, IMO.
IMO, Increase the minimum amount of shimmer, decrease the amount of shimmer gained when moving, leave the amount of shimmer lost when shooting the same. This will make it better for moving between cover while decreasing its effectiveness for camping.
yeah unfortunately. I wish they would realize that if certain things weren’t in the loadouts the game would be a lot better. But for some reason its rocket science to them.
They could make it so when you scope it either runs out even quicker or just disables it completely, thus using it for closer engagements with a sword or assault weapon.
What does a scope have to do with it?
I say, let it be like halo 2, a 10 second maximum, free movement, but disappears when you shoot or are shot at. That would keep me satisfied.
Personally, it Active Camo is fine as an AA…and the length of it should be 12 seconds under cloaked, and 12 second recharge.

facepalm

I’m not sure how that is facepalm worthy. That is how it has been in every single game minus Halo 4 and Reach. You know what too? It was balanced that way.
I can’t remember ANYONE complaining about Active Camo in Halo 1-3.
A person who is using active camo SHOULD NOT also have the ability to become invisible to the radar when crouching. That would be insane. That would be one of the biggest mistakes in this HALO HISTORY.
In my opinion, just make it a pick up. That way if someone wants to use a sniper and camo, they have to go pick them up, BUT anyone using camo should be instantly revealed.
Having the ability to start with camo brings too many possible outcomes:
Having to waste time flushing someone out and being ambushed by the other team, camo camping from the start, team camo camping, Team of camo camping snipers, trying to shoot enemy team member behind you while camo camper rushes out with shotgun, guy camo camping for what seems like hours and you having to decide to take a chance looking around or not, etc.

I rather start with Active Camo rather than to go out and find it, where someone else can get their hands on it. If their were a Classic Playlist, then i’ll accept AC as a pick up AA. On Infinity Slayer, i need it as a starting AA.
Jesus Christ AC does not need buffing. I find it annoying but I still think it’s balanced in Halo 4, minus the glitch of course. As if we need a bunch of people running around the map completely invisible and undetectable by radar.

Who wouldn’t want to start out with the ability to go invisible? I’m sure most people would, but the fact is, it is not balanced that way. Games become slow and everyone camps when users have the ability to cloak off of spawn.
Obviously it will remain broken in Halo 4 but if 343i have any common sense they’ll return it to a map power-up in Halo 5.
Active Camo completely ruins BTB play. Its not nearly as bad in 4v4 since you can actually see the dots on your radar and can proceed with caution. On a map like Ragnarok, it is a complete nightmare.

True…but like i said…I rather have a TU Playlist (containing AA’s) and a Classic Playlist (No AA’s, some are Power-Ups), then that would be fine for me. That’s the way I would balance it. Let players who despise AC as an AA play Classic and let those who love AC as an AA play TU.
Id prefer it to be a map pick up. That way, in BTB at least, people cant camo camp in some absurd little corner and get rewarded with a power weapon that will only encourage them to stay put more.
Or put it in a POD with a low chance of it appearing.
