Let me just come right out and say what an astronomical failure this game has turned out to be. I have been loyal to the Halo franchise ever since the beginning of its lifetime, with the original Xbox release of Halo CE. I have been to every midnight release for every game. Granted, each of the games had their minor flaws, but they were the kind of flaws that only made the game more interesting. However, with regards to the MCC, this game has had more issues than all of the Halo releases that came before it combined. It is the ONLY game that I have ever had such an impossible time attempting to play. But because you all have done such an amazing job with everything up to the release of this game, I have waited patiently and silently for the game to get into a fully functional state. I can see that progress has been made in many areas, however, I find it disheartening that with all of the genius minds at 343 Industries, and the incredible processing power of the Xbox One, that this game still belongs in its own category of the most impossible to enjoy game that I have ever owned. Despite this post, let it be known that i AM a patient man. With that being said, I would have much rather waited for this game to have been properly and fully tested before it was rushed out for shipment. MCC was my entire reason for purchasing an Xbox One, but now I cannot say that I feel good about my investment. Furthermore, I tested the beta for Halo 5: Guardians, and it is a far cry from being worthy of having “Halo” in it’s title. It is another game entirely, as well as another subject for soapboxing that I refuse to get into at this time, therefore, I digress with this final statement: I guess I will just have to look back and enjoy the memories of how great these games once were…
My first time posting here and after a couple of hours desperately trying to play a game, I decided it was time to speak-up! I found the forums and the first thread I see is titled “I Give Up” and that’s exactly how I felt. I pretty much echo everything in the previous post. I can not believe that the worst game of 2014 and even 2015 so far is a Halo title. It blows my mind that this thing is STILL not fixed.
I genuinely think it’s time to take our grievances to the next level. We need to get organized and make something happen!!
When you can play this game it is very fun. However, this is becoming more and more rare. Very disappointed. If you actually read this forum you would realize that you are about to lose much of your franchises value. The update made things worse and if you don’t fix this game and instead concentrate on 5 I can tell you a legion of fans that will go out of their way to let every friend they have know not to buy that game. I personally feel very gripped. 60 is a lot to pay for a broken toy.
Not not trying to hate. Just think we expected more from one of the top gaming franchises of all time.

Agree, major fail. I too have been a Halo fan and bought the system for this reason! The “ranking coming soon” is a BIG time joke, wait times for games are SO random it doesn’t make sense, the list goes on. I can only hold on to the Halo 2 and 3 days of competitve ranking that made me come back like an addict. This game is painful. The worst part is, they decided to rush all 4 games out and now ruined any change of a GOOD anniversary of Halo 3 in the future or any other because they “already did that”. Such a bummer. Where is team doubles and all the other great play lists? Why do they ignore us? I guess they’ve given up too. Just think I should have saved my money… BTW, another topic, why is the XBOX one also horrible for online chat/friendly buddying up? The 360 made it WAY better for partnering up with friends or new people. This NAT problem is a backwords joke (can’t join each other), no voice messages allowed, can’t stay with people your playing with, etc. It blows my mind how much WORSE playing with people is!!! I feel like I’m by myself while playing, back in the 360 days I felt like “friends” were everywhere to play with because the 360 had it in mind! How could they go back 10 years, such crap!
Im playing right now. Matchmaking seems to be working fine at the moment. But its here and there. I just played a game that was 5v3 and we got 2 kills and the other team got 1 kill then the game randomly said game over, victory! Haha! Noone even quit the session even though it was terribly uneven. Im ranked 22 (by luck do to the matchmaking issues) but after that game im now a 1. Hahaha! Serious fail. This game has become a joke if you are a serious gamer. If you are a casual gamer its cool to venture back into a classic game. Definitely not worth 60 bucks though. I would be happy with getting 30 back and keeping the game but of course that would never happen. As for halo 5 i will not buy it. I think 343 is a joke. Halo 4 was stupid and now this crap. I look forward to the elder scrolls: online. set to launch in june.
I agree with the op. I was the biggest halo fan and have nothing but bad things to say about this collection. It tarnished halos brand. How it’s still not fixed is unreal. There are still soooo many matchmaking bugS. And still no post-game lobby?!
I’m with you. I’m the guy with Halo figures all over the office, but have officially given up as well.
