I give up playing the campaign

Not the main campaign, the two bonus DLC missions which just released. I’m done, completely done. Tried to beat mission 13 on Legendary, only to realize I would probably have to spend at least 2 hours snailing my way through it just to beat it. Not only do I constantly have enemy AI constantly attacking my base, and basically insta killing my units, but I also forgot the lovely little feature of having a small group of 3 or more units together suddenly wiped out by a random leader power! And since no one wants to watch a mission be completed at a snails place, I beat it on normal.

Mission 14… I feel so sorry for the soul who tries to beat this on Legendary… add what I said up above along with a 20 minute timer… I tried completing it on Normal, TWICE, both times had my base over run and over powered. ON NORMAL. You know, the mode which isn’t supposed to make you want to rip the console from your TV, go outside and smash it to little pieces?

Like, there’s giving the player a challenge, then just literally annoying them for the purpose of getting them to play the game longer. I’ve never played Dark Souls, but, I can’t help but feel like they’ve taken inspiration from that game just a little bit.

Anyone else experiencing the same pain?

I couldn’t bring myself to finish the main campaign. The thing where it force pans you to something to look at and you lose control of your units only to return to them in the middle of being glassed to death was just ridiculously bad design. It was artificial difficulty brought on by poor design choices, not by actual gameplay.

The spear breaker missions were much more enjoyable to play.

I literally can’t even do mission 14 for the life of me. I literally just gave up lmao

I beat Operation Spearbreaker on normal with no difficulties, guess I was lucky?

Honestly I had no problem beating either mission on Legendary. I beat the the mission in 34 minutes. The 1st one actually took me longer.

I built up the 1st base and upgraded units after pumping out a mixture of units. marines, Snipers, wolves, and cyclops. Then used the ODST and Grizzly drop as much as possible.

When I was getting to the end of the mission is when they started to attack my main base (i took a 2nd base at the north of the map). Once they started attacking my 1st I started upgrading my 2nd too keep resources and a few units coming as they died.

I let them kill my main base but I already unlocked most upgrades for the my units and with the odst drop and grizzly drop that all have veterancy. I was basically unstoppable even without my 1st base. Blew through the remaining mission with ease.

A tip is to avoid to sentinels untill they move far away from the power node. Use one marine to go capture it. They cap pretty quick. Move your entire army behind the sentinel and use holo on your marine. Just keep kiting the sentinels blast with the holo and it will die within seconds if you have wolves/rpg marines in your mix.

I also went with 2 turrets upgraded for vehicle and infantry in the front of my bases. 1 sensor tower and 1 siege turret. Pretty deadly combo that repelled all attacks untill the last attack near the end of the match right before I made it to the center of the map.

Though…Now that I typed this all up…not sure if im getting my missions swapped lol

On normal it’s easy though the last missions a pain but it’s good for that. After I did the main campaign on Legendary solo and never got the achievement I decided to do any future campaign co op

I did it and got both of them done. The key feature here is Holograms are your friend do you know how many times I’ve sent Holograms out just for the Infamous Hunters Brand to hit them and not my main army. Go infantry first so you can save money and stack up for Grizzly Battalion.

Try it on normal first man. So you can get used to it. Then work your way up to heroic then legendary. Thats like playing some of the last missions in the the original campaign first time on legendary. Except these are more difficult then the original campaign.

Both missions are very easy to beat on legendary compared to the main campaign

What? If anything it was very easy!

I beat the first one in 40~ mins and the second in 35~ on legendary.

I actually felt the enemy AI didn’t attack often, it really let you chill and also their main bases were a cake walk. In the main campaign there were missions were the main enemy base was an absolute stronghold. In these two missions everything is so easy.

Campaign is very easy for skilled players…:ok_hand:

I have not done Halo Wars 2 on Legendary, but I do know that I beat Spearbreaker on Normal difficulty without failing once. I have not completed a single RTS mission on the hardest difficulty, but if I were to give any advice I would suggest largely ignoring the time constraint on that final mission. On normal difficulty I beat it with over 40 minutes left on the clock, so I cannot imagine that Legendary would sap up that much extra time.

Exactly. Completing each objective extends the timer.

lol, beat the two missions on legendary first try, have felt very easy compared to the main campaign.
Don’t try multiplayer, when your base got overrun in speakbreaker.

I just pulled the USSR strategy: build up marines and ODSTs (in addition to main people) and mob/overrun the enemy in one big force. Works well on Normal…

This pretty much sums up my Halo Wars 2 Legendary experience.

I beat it on heroic and it was really hard but they were both great missions with the perfect challenge.

Dude you just suck. Play on an easier difficulty you goon. Casual RTS players just can’t use their brain holy moly.

I beat the Spearbreaker campaign on Heroic with a friend.

Spearbreaker 1: Lose a base? Don’t worry. Grab one of the mini bases and get up a supply pad. The enemy doesn’t seem to bother mini bases. Tested and approved. Yes, I finished without a main base.

Spearbreaker 2: Build enough tanks to make General Patton blush. And a single Colossus.

Staying determined is key.

Considering I beat the rest of campaign on Legendary…
