I get it the pass system is slow and not fun but can we talk about how the game plays?

Like yes I get it we all get it the pass is a bit clunky and slow but that’s not the only thing to talk about

In terms of if gameplay infinite is amazing it feels like halo again so can we put the brakes on the pass issue and talk bout the gameplay? Please?

Gameplay-wise yes but if you’re playing on an Xbox One s or x and you’re stuck at 60 frames per second with the crazy aim assist control are going all over the place except for your actual Target and you got to sweat your butt off just to hit them. And playing against PC kids with 120 frames per second with 60% accuracy. I get what you’re saying.

Overall core gameplay is nice. Gunplay works and controller aim seems more dialed in than the earlier beta or weapons were tweaked (pistol and commando). I tweaked my settings pretty dramatically but it still seems better. Still too slow at max stuff.

I like the equipment it’s not terribly intrusive and feels like another power weapon to fight over. Sprint is good and balanced. I still hate clamber.

I really do not like the outlines on enemies- I make mistakes regarding teams or shield capacity.

Additionally, no friendly fire and no collision is a terrible change imo. Nade spam teammates without repercussions and the collision is super annoying with aim assist and holding to a single target.

Many of the weapons feel pretty useless in the sandbox. The mangler and disruptor aren’t great and neither is the stalker rifle. It’s partially I’m not sure how they all work yet but they don’t feel good or intuitive. Plasma pistol is complete shit now.

I worry about the lack of maps and game type selection (hopefully changes with official launch) from keeping the game from getting stale because the battle pass and challenge system isn’t helping. The maps we have tho I like so far.

Btb has potential but I’m disappointed about the 3 maps and 2 of them have a very similar look and feel to them.

I can’t stand the lack of consistency in the maps. Sometimes there’s a Br, sometimes it’s a commando, sometimes there’s a sniper or now it’s a rocket- it makes it hard to learn maps and know what the enemy could have especially because there is literally no indication what weapon set the map has. I also am very confused about the seemingly random vehicle drops and power weapon spawns in btb. It makes the game chaotic but not in a fun way. In more of a ‘well they got lucky and got a tank I guess?’

The AI is super annoying but also can give some helpful information so there’s a dilemma about muting it. You’d think they’d build in more than 1 voice line for picking up a rocket. Overall there’s too many voices between AI, the overworld woman, the announcer guy, Spartan chatter, then teammates. And again some of it is useful so there is a downside to muting it.

It’s new and fresh- I liked playing last night and want to play more today. I do worry about it’s ability to have longevity. I think forge should be great that the base is there.

TTK seems really fast.

The outlines I’m actually rather fond of, thought I’d hate them.

No red ring on PC is really annoying. Its a nice visual cue that i’m doing things right.

The HUD is atrocious. The purest form of fixing something that was working fine.

Lack of player collision is another.

The UI is as usual 343 norm, absolute confusing garbage with too many windows to flip through to do minimal things. Why are body type, voice, and prosethetics in a totally different menu than armor? Who knows? Why can’t I rotate my spartan in body type selection? who knows?

Why is there two grenade buttons on pc?

Why aren’t coatings applicable to everything like they said it would be when they tried to sell fans on the coating system? Why is the anniversary coating locked to MK7 only? I could see ones with decals and such being tricky, but anniversary is pretty much a shiny version of Sage Recruit.

Graphically the game is definitely better than last year, but I’m at max settings and it still looks really flat and bad at times. Yes I have dynamic resolution off, this is more of a lighting and contrast issue.

well 343 did say the no red reticle was on pc was for dealing with aimbots cause once that goes red aimbots pull trigger and bang your dead not a bad way to deal with but I can see why it’ll get annoying

I’m sorry but removing base game functionality for bots is unacceptable.

well until theres a better solution fro this its kinda stuck there

It’s fun, but the progression system outweighs that.

The progression system defines how a majority of players play. In objective games people are going for challenges. I’ve had teammates quit immediately because (of what I can only assume is) the game type wasn’t what they needed.

Hell, I’ve stayed back waiting to grab a specific vehicle or gun to try and progress. The progression alters the way you play. It alters 95% of players play. Which in turn, affects how fun the game is.

Like it or not but rewarding a player for their investment is how you keep players invested. A game being “fun” isn’t good enough. Apex is fun, Battlefield is fun, Minecraft is fun, there are a crap ton of fun games out there.

As it is now, Halo infinite is not a rewarding game to play.

I assume I am getting owned by folks on PC? I’m astounded at their consistency and ability to stay on top of me no matter what I do. Could just be these old eyes, tho.

You can turn off cross play in the Xbox settings. Makes it more fun

I , for one, am not huge on cosmetics. I will change them if I get free ones but to me those have never been a priority. That said, the game is fantastic. The battle pass is silly in its current state but damn the game plays so we’ll.

Enjoying the gameplay. The progression is a bit of a kick in the teeth. I knew it was going to come out bad though.

The Commando Nerf was super unnecessary, but I’m really enjoying the variety of Guns you get to have Per game. I’m hoping more maps come soon, the maps we got are super nice in quality but without a better progression system you end up feeling like you’re playing without a cause.

The Main Driver of continued playing of a game in current shooters is the META. The longer a game can last the more you don’t mind repeating said game (Which is why Battle royals seem to last longer. Because you’re in the game for LONG periods of time compared to Arenas)

But I have faith that Infinite will get a ton of content, but it may take a few months.

Right now my only real gripe is the battle pass progression. And challenges are not progrrssong properly

I brought up an issue in a previous thread about hitmarker inconsistency with full-auto weapons. The AR and chaingun, when you shoot full-auto, only show hitmarkers every 3 or 4 bullets, which makes hit registration feel wierd. That is honestly my main complaint at the moment. The gameplay overall is solid.

edit: the Sidekick also personally feels terrible to me. I don’t think the reticle is very clear and the bloom makes the weapon ineffective past 10 meters.

The game play is a lot of fun, I’m loving it.
I have minor issues with aiming on controller feeling harder than past games, though I’ve never really been that great of a shot. I avoid the commando at nearly all costs. It gets me killed faster than if I were to just jump off the edge of the map.
I think this game is a really good start. Just some minor tweaks.

Gameplay is great, although sprinting is so slow they may as well not have it. I turned off the speed lines in the options because seeing speed lines when I’m barely jogging is just hilarious.

I feel u, but the progression is so awful I feel like it needs to be addressed first. Once they fix it I feel the gameplay will be more enjoyable too.

Completely agree with this. Taking some getting used to. And when I play competitive playlists the PC folks just easily dominate - I have had several matches where my team did not score a single point. I expect to be owned a lot but I have never seen anything like this before.

Where can I find this? I’m lost.

Hey, the progression system being the main topic of discussion shows at least to me that the game is great in other aspects.

Only gripe I have is that the AR kills so fast, yet there are so many map pickups that can’t even compete with it’s ttk. I feel like this has made alot of weapons not worth a pickup unless it’s a BR.
