I get it now! It was so REQs would be spent right?

So the nerfed loadouts actually make you consider pulling out the reqs no one normally used in warzone such as the SAW and Light Rifle since the loadouts don’t out class them anymore right? Or maybe it was meant for us to put actual thought into the loadout variants like the scopes and lasers, I feel like the AR is practically worthless unless I’m smart linked and I use to use the morph AR for the fun of it but now I feel like I NEED it regularly.

Not really IMO. It was more about bringing balance to arena it seemed to me. Most examples were for arena.

I think too it was for arenas benefit, unfortunately now tho it renders the br and DMR useless as the maps in general are to small to need a DMR and the magnum is now far superior to the br , which feels like trash now , so what was for balance I think has had the opposite affect making it AR and magnum all the way as both are now op in comparison to the rest of the weapons with the exception of the storm rifle which was left alone lmfao ( coz that wasn’t op was it ??? ) !!!

Idk what everyone’s talking about with the AR, it was my main weapon and now I feel like a storm trooper with it, it became a side arm for me now.

I personally feel that this update further divided the Halo community… Making more people hate this game than ever before.

Idk, the magnum people seem happy.

I wonder why there isn’t a population counter anymore… I wonder why it takes 10+ minutes to find a game sometimes…

The magnum should never beat a BR. Period.

I’m with you on that last bit, I beat a guy with a carbine at close range with my magnum, it’s pretty absurd, it wasn’t even a gunfighter mag.

This is all because 343 is heavily focusing on the competitive community over the social gamers. They want halo relevant in the competitive gaming community again and so they cater to that side more. I get it. I don’t really like it though. I was so happy that the AR was effective again. I enjoy that we have a strong magnum too (Halo 4s was atrociously weak), but now I’m unsure why I should ever bother with using an AR again.

H4 wasn’t competitive so now they’re overcompensating.
Also the Magnum is the primary weapon in HCS, and the only loadout weapon to not receive a nerf. Coincidence?

I was thinking about that too, “What’s the point of slayer if the magnum’s the best weapon? I should just play HCS…Wait a minute.”.

Because it was the only Loadout weapon never tested in the Weapons Testing Playlist. The gunfighter Magnum took its place, and people still found that unwarrented. And since the Gunfighter Magmun is a Loadout weapon, guess that means every Loadout weapon has changed.

Also considering that they spent the most time on the Magnum before Halo 5’s release due to it being the utility weapon of the game and the entire sandbox revolving around it. No one had any complaints about it in the first place.

Yes, the gunfighter was changed, but it was buffed unlike all the others which were nerfed. And they mentioned they want to replace the magnum with the gunfighter in HCS. So they’re putting the only buffed weapon into HCS.

The Gunfighter Magnum only got a buff in base damage. It lost a lot of range, is less accurate, and has more recoil.

And not everyone even wants it to be the main weapon in HCS. The Magum would be pretty much phased out everywhere, most importantly the one playlist which you called the primary weapon.

Also the Storm Rifle wasn’t looked at and people have been begging for that one. 343 just slowly phased that one out too.

It’s not absurd if the carbine user was missing shots. It’s a precision weapon, but that doesn’t guarantee the person using it is going to be good with it. The carbine has a faster kill time than the magnum with a perfect and normal kill according to the weapon tuning charts so this was most likely a human issue over a weapon one.

True, but it happened the other way around too when I had the carbine in hand, I honestly get the feeling the mag beats the carbine overall now.

I updated my post I guess while you were replying, but it has faster kill times according to the weapon chart. The up close aim assist has been lowered and it has more spread at longer ranges so that might be the reasons why people aren’t beating the magnum in different ranges.
