I found traces of VIP in Reach

VIP was cut from Halo Reach

Now, you may think that is a pretty bold claim.

Well, not really. Whilst I was working on my files repository web site, I was going through the images hosted on Bungie’s server that are used in file shares, when I came across THIS.

Web pages content is generally developed after a game is produced, so to see it on their server, unused, suggests that VIP was cut very late in development…

So, 343? Finish what Bungie started?

VIP is just Team Juggernaut. Just with negative settings rather then positive.

In the ODST section on Bungie.net you can also find the sword spree medal within the websites code. And we all know that you cant use a sword in ODST. Placeholders or unused content. Nothing new. Unless this gametype is not on the Reach disk (source code) itself, these things are just placeholders.

  1. ODST was made directly from Halo 3’s code, same for stats, they just copied and pasted all that stuff.

  2. Reach’s gametype system was completely revamped and nothing was the same for Halo 3, if they had VIP in the Website, it was bound to have been an option at one point.

VIP is probably like Chess, in the source code but not fully finished, it may even be possible to re-release the gametype with Megalo like Bungie did with Chess but it may be glitchy, like Chess, you can’t actually get a check mate sadly because it was cut late in.

Although, please 343i, if you can, attempt to bring it back.
