lol, accessibility is “having the tools”. I don’t think knowledge should be included in this because it’s something you learn. Knowledge is only not accessible when you have a learning disability. However, if the knowledge requires that you do something which you can not do (ie using a Claw Grip to perform button combos in Halo 2), then it is an accessibility issue. For example, removing aim-assist on weapons could make it less accessible for controller players, even if you “know” you must put the reticule on your target.
So that’s where I’m at on defining accessibility.
the AR is already too easy, they make it any easier and this wont be halo, it barely is in its current state with that AR
you sir, should stay away from video game development

we are getting into semantics. the shield system is not friendly to new players and there is a big unnecessary skill gap because of that missing knowledge rather than a fair intuitive system that has a big skill gap.
Yes, a deep shooting skill gap has been missing from Halo for a long, long time. The weapon balance is the actual reason Infinite is struggling to retain players. ALL of the weapons need to be more challenging to use (and not just because of the poor feel of aiming in general in the game). Weapons need to slay more rapidly but be more difficult to do so perfectly.

I’m sorry, what is your problem?
This isn’t a dunkfest.
I never once said it should be easier so you should get that 2/20 vision of yours checked, my guy.
Not a chance bro. This proves a lot about your understanding of skill in the game. You could put this scenario into an octagon match with a timer long enough to allow shields to recharge and that gold player will not get a single kill against a player of that caliber.
I read another reply you wrote where you’re under this impression that maybe some golds don’t know about how shields work etc…like dude…are you completely unaware that there are gold tier players that have been playing halo since the beginning? Gold skill is not exclusive to new players.
This dude has no idea what he’s talking about. Something this simple he doesn’t understand…without an understanding of something that basic…there isnt even a point of getting into anything more complex.
i didnt say they were just new players. I brought up some reasons and another guy brought up more reasons saying he had gold teammates who can shoot really well but were terrible at everything else.
i feel like you are failing to grasp the conversation
Very well said.
The BR should be a 4 shot kill if you land all headshots and 6-7 shot kill if you land body shots plus a headshot after shields are down.
If need be they could tune it to make it two headshots after shields are down, if your player has a new equippable that gives headshot resistance if you’re tired of getting sniped etc you could equip an extra armor plate on the helmet like how the Reach Helmet cosmetics have.
I see so many great Ideas from fans in these forums, I just wish 343 was more open to fan inspired ideas ranging from maps and sandbox to weapons, vehicle preferences and Story notes.
Like man, we need Halo Wars Vehicles…And if we have bigger maps they are viable.
The absolute wealth of concept art from Halo Wars 1&2 and Infinite Concept artists with Biomes, Forerunner architectural variety, hexagon variety, level layouts, foliage, locations etc is being wasted by not being integrated for large scale battlefields.
We’re talkkng about 1 point i addressed in the OP. I’m failing? While you’re saying a gold tier player is basically going to 4 shot professional players? Come on now. You have to accept how ridiculous that sounds.
im saying its possible to wiin some battles or atleast get really close in an empty room regardless of skill gap. this is a video game with limitations. this isnt the wild west that requires real gun skill.
In my scenario its IMPOSSIBLE. That gold will not get a single kill even if its up to 100 kills in an octagon match with a timer that alllows shields to recharge before the new spawn comes up. You seem clueless about the skills of strafing and accuracy between such an enormous tier gap. I can’t even believe you’re trying to debate this. If in place of gold you said for example, a high diamond then that’s a different story. At the gold skill level, those players do not possess that much raw gun and strafe skill. Like i said, if its in their lobbies, sure. They can land shots on other players not as big in difference of those raw skills.
When you get into the higher skilled players, they’re the players that have more mastery over mechanics like raw accuracy and strafe skills in their 1v1s, but what then starts to differentiate players is things like decision making, awareness, knowing spawns, grenade skills and traps, utilization of the sandbox. Movement etc.
Just to not confuse you. Im not saying they wont land a single shot. I am saying they won’t get a single kill.
1v1s arent as special as you are making them out to be. At the end of the day its just 2 people moving left and right shooting their BR with aim assist that only counts headshots with no shields. Both players are going to trade a lot of damage even if the gold doesnt win but i still think the gold will get lucky and win some if the pro gets unlucky and thats all it takes.
weapons like the sniper that give the most reward for the risk is a lot different. Put a gold against a pro and the gold will hardlly land any damage. I’m not saying the br should be as hard as the sniper but it should have a bit more risk vs reward. Plus its just intuitive to have headshot bonuses and the current system is not intuitive.
Because we (the people who have been here 20 years) are aging out. We have careers now and don’t play as often as we did when we were teens/young adults in college. Over a 10 year plan, most of us will be pushing 40. It’s highly probable that a good bit of us that are left will retire from gaming entirely by that point. New players are important for the next generations of gaming. Get them hooked now to continue the games longevity down the road.

Idk about you but I’ll playing Halo until the day I die. A career or age isn’t going to stop me. And I am one of those people. I started with Halo 2 when it was out
Its not about the BR being easy to use or not. Its not the most difficult weapon to use, but you’re still wrong dude. It’s not luck…like wth. You’re intentionally making the player miss while you land your shots…do you not think there’s a difference in a gold strafing compared to a higher caliber player? I mean dude we’re talking about professional players here. Vs a gold. Its not that they’re untouchable…but a gold to a professional…like dude…are you serious right now?
Have you ever grinded octagon matches in Any of the halo games dude? I have. Tons and tons of octagon matches.
