Before I get started, a lot of this is coming from a game called Anthem, it was a flop because it was like Iron Man, Halo, and Destiny had a child, but one good thing about it was its customization that is much akin to Infinite’s, but better.
So in Anthem, you get to choose your basic materials from the get-go, such as bare metal, painted metal, leather, Vex Dominion Leather, You name it! And you get to do that while also choosing a color for that specific material. The same basic colors we’ve had since the start of Halo. It was a great system really. But how would we monetize it so that big daddy Microsoft gets his money? I figured that -Yoink!- out too.
In Anthem there was an item store, it would rotate often and brought with it Armor Sets(15$ MAX and it was really awesome), and Different materials for your armor (5-10$ max, also really awesome, usually included a pattern and a new color) and there would also be different shades of the basic colors. Like a Northern lights themed Green and such.
I think Halo Infinite could benefit from the exact same system. The entire point of the coating system was for them to implement different textures via Materials and also introduce different patterns and such, however the system we would be implementing would leave that up to player choice and maybe satisfy the vets such as myself.
This is just an idea, let me know your thoughts,
Thanks Friends,
