I fired up MCC last night and the aiming felt bad

Basically I had been playing on keyboard and mouse for fun and had changed it to max field of view (FOV) and messed with my settings until aiming felt nice for me. I have no experience as a kbm user outside of about 10 games of Splitgate. Aiming felt good, all sorted. Played some games, had fun. I didn’t play for a couple of weeks after that.

Then when I came back I changed back to controller as I wanted to play ranked. The aiming felt horrendous, I realised it was because I had calibrated my aim settings to the min FOV on controller. On max it felt awful, but when I changed the FOV back to min it felt normal/good again.

I realised that Halo Infinite felt kinda awful aiming to me until I set the FOV to max. I wonder if the reason some people are struggling with aim because the default settings are intended for use with max FOV instead of min. I also needed to change my sensitivity and deadzone so there were other issues there, but the game felt much better changing the FOV.

Maybe I’m just an idiot for not realising sooner, but yeah I wonder how many people who thought the flight felt off didn’t change their FOV. If you did and it still felt off, I’d be interested to hear your thoughts. I know there are a bunch of factors but I didn’t realise personally how much of a huge difference changing the FOV would make. It feels like Infinite’s default aim settings are intended for use with max FOV which may confuse newer players.
