Does anyone else find themselves ditching the BR more often now? Some comments made about the new BR have made me second guess it’s historical usefulness due to being good in most situations. It seems like most versions of the AR in the halo series, good from mid to close range but there are better options. Well now I’m feeling like virtually every other precision weapon is a better option than the BR.
Also since the tune, I find myself taking weapons whose roles overlap or combinations that don’t seem to make any sense. Prior to that, I was like most people in that I would choose weapons that compliment eachoather’s weaknesses, like a DMR and shotgun load out, for example. Since the tune, I might take combinations like an SMG/Brute PR, a light rifle and carbine, or a shotgun and plasma pistol. Surprisingly I feel like it has increased my KDR.
I’ve found that depending on the distance, closer less spread, further away more spread. Like LethalQ, I stick with the H2BR, until the DMR is available.
I honestly never had a problem with any version of the battle rifle, it all works for me, I sure like it more than the AR, it’s the first time I’ll willing to hold 2 precision weapons at once and that’s not even my thing.

The post-hotfix Battle Rifle is in my opinion, more predictable and consistent again.
The vertical recoil is giving me some classic FPS vibes in the sense that you’ll have to aim around the chest/neck so the recoil will cause the last shot will be a headshot (and therefore kill your target).

Yeah, don’t really like it. Played it yesterday because we were with 5. But I realized the BR was absolutely -Yoink- on those big maps. A DMR or Magnum would be a better starting weapon.
I haven’t played the game since the recent tweak this week but I did after the tuning update. The BR became unusable and too random. I would get headshots consecutively that wouldn’t result in a perfect kill medal which frustrated and confused me more.

hmmm, I might have to login and try it out. I was hoping the hotfix would address many of the faithfuls’ complaints.

Yup. Magnum has a great range in game units than the BR. Magnum is like a mini-DMR in terms of its range (and it fire as fast, or a little slower). Kinda ridiculous
You can still hit things without red reticle, it’s just much harder.
