Hello! First time poster here (actually first time poster on any forum
) so please go easy on me!
Today I was blessed with the opportunity to play Halo 4 at Gamer-base in HMV, London. It was awesome!
That is all, bye!
ā¦Naww, Iām just messing, here are the details
-
Well first things first, a little introduction. My 'tag is sonny21004 (from which you could probably tell my name), and I lurrrve halo.
Iāve had all Halo games (including Wars, excluding anniversary, I dunnoā¦it doesnāt really count?), but I only started with the online shenanigans with Halo 3, and boy, did I LOVE it!
I was, and still am a very competitive player. And yes - Iām one of those people that prey, wish, stay-up-late-at-night-and-cry-myself-to-sleep (not really) about a juicy ranking system for Halo 4. You can begin to imagine what kind of player I am.
ANYWAY.
I played Halo 4 and like I said, it was AWESOME. Below are a list and details of weapons I used.
The BR is great, but only effective at short/mid to mid/long ranges. Itās got a lovely thunderous roar when fired, and is clearly an evolution of the Halo 3 BR. It fires faster than the Halo 3 BR, and takes 5 shots to kill, but it still feels really fluid, and quick to kill with.
The DMR is equally great, but more effective at mid and longer ranges. It sounds incredibly powerful, and I ended up using this the most - it feels so powerful. 5 well placed shots will send your foe into a kill-cam like hell, where they are forced to respawn. Currently, this is my favorite weapon in Halo 4. There is bloom on the DMR - but its negligible on all targets apart from those at really long ranges.
The light-rifle isā¦weird. I confess to not using it much, but in the time I did use it, it felt like a beast. Zoomed shots felt really powerful, but hip-fired bursts felt weak.
The carbine is a beast - very accurate, very fast. Only downside is that it takes more shots to kill (about 7 or 8? Wasnāt counting), but the sheer speed of the shooting kind of makes up for that.
The snipe drools is drools more brilliant. I managed to pull off a couple of no scopes and get the āsnapshotā medal, and get a few scoped headshots (not crouching, all moving :P) You know how the sniper rifle from Halo 3 and Halo Reach feel really different? Well, imagine the two had been locked in a room with some romantic music, and gave birth to a mix of the 2 - thats exactly what it felt like: a sort of āin betweenā of the Halo 3 and Reach sniper rifle.
The railgun, is a tricky weapon. You need to charge it to use it - a lot like the SpLaser. It is insanely powerful, and literally blows enemies away with one hit.
The sticky detonator - really tricky weapon. I use the ānade launcher from Reach a lot, and found the transition a bit weird. I think itās 2 clicks of RT, one to fire, one to detonate. I didnāt have enough time to find out sadly
The incineration cannon - is an animal. Anything unlucky enough to stroll in the path of the projectile will be melted, and anything close to the area of effect willā¦die. Itās like someone took the rocket launcher and said āyou know what, itās just not that crazy enough anymoreā, and added like 4 baby rockets with each shot.
The rocket launcher - same olā rocket launcher, sounds different and actually fires a bit different also. Once fired, the rocket starts to slowly dip downwards - kind of like long range bullet shots from Battlefield 3.
Also, ninjas are completely do-able in Halo 4, since the jump height is back to normal. My friends pulled some off, followed by the famed āvictory crouchingā we have all gotten used to :P. Strafing and ācrouch-strafingā are entirely helpful and demonstrative of ones prowess in combat. Bumper jumper now has button āAā as sprint, and the right d-pad button as change grenade. X is armour ability, all other buttons are the same (as the original bumper jumper).
Well, thatās all my memory cares to serve right now. If I do think of anything, Iāll be sure to update (provided people actually read this)
Hope you enjoyed my findings, I do have pics/videos and will upload them soon to my FB.
Thanks for reading!
