As you can see, I have NO idea how to use a Phaeton. Absolutely no awareness of where the “wings” are or wherever they are. The only reason I even called it in was because I was having an AMAZING game (I’m talking level 9 REQs at the halfway point amazing), and I was like “Eh f***k it” and called it in. Didn’t work out so well. That was my only Phaeton too haha
Anybody else have some good fails they’d like to share?
Well, I got two Phaeton Helioses in the MoR REQ pack, I got instantly killed in the first one, the second one I did manage to get some kills with, but then I got stuck in a tree and a tank shot me down.
I have been really lucky with phaetons. I am only like four kills away from the kills with a phaeton commendation.
First time I spawned a Phaeton was on ARC and I spawned in above the AI Ghost outside main base. I spent a while getting used to the buttons while getting shot by the Ghost, eventually I pressed X and exited the Phaeton in mid air. It landed on top of me, killing me instantly.
I respawned at the base and got back to it. I went down the tunnel and upon exiting the tunnel I was destroyed by one Banshee bomb.
My Phaeton experience has not been great. 0 kills from the first then 5, 3, 0 and 3. I got 9 in the Helios and was still alive when the match ended the one time I used one of them.
i’m level 121 and i still don’t have a phaeton 
You know you guys can use it in forge and campaign…? It’s on you if you’re not habituated with it honestly.

Yep… practice with it in other modes isn’t a bad idea for those who may not be quite used to them.
I’ve used it only once … and I only got one kill with it.
Fly low and stay close to buildings for cover. When you fight a banshee use the turret not the missles unless you’re getting the drop on them then blast away while you can. The Phaeton is a support vehicle. Now I know the term ‘support vehicle’ sounds boring but I guarantee that if you hang around areas most populated by your team you’ll be getting overkills in no time. Lastly, remember you have the ability to raise and lower your phaeton without moving forward or backward. If you use that to your advantage you’ll be way more effective at evading stray lasers or br fire.
Phaeton is definitely my favorite vehicle in H5. Keep pulling them out whenever you can, eventually it will click and you’ll find it is actually a real beast of a vehicle.

Just finished that commendation today, phaeton helios is an absoloute beast.

Exactly, Phaetons are pretty rare to get from gold packs you might want to practice a bit OP before you call one in. Once you get used to the evade on it they can be really effective, stick near cover too.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get the certification for it so that was the only one I got. I also didn’t get the Helios one in the MoR update, so I’m out of luck until I unlock another one.
First time I used one (I didn’t have a certification yet, so I only had one) I got taken down by an ONI Scorpion before I got anywhere with it

Don’t fly too low, though. You’ll just be asking to get skyjacked.
i was on a 25 kill spree in banshee when some nornfag or something hit me once and set my banshee on fire. so i flew back into my core to spawn a new banshee in. while i was at the req terminal selecting another banshee my old one exploded on its own, which i had stupidly parked right next to me, counting as a suicide and ending my spree

I still havent called one in and Im level 125. Im hesitant to call one of the two I have because I have no clue how to drive them thanks to them being so rare.
