Maybe it’s just that I’m posting in “Halo 4”, but I feel like posting is an exercise in futility.
I try to post useful, feasible suggestions, but all I get is a bunch of assinine replies that even mildly responding to get me in trouble. Really, I litterally had a moderator side with a bunch of trolls against me.
It’s like between the “let’s accept everything new” people, the “let’s accept nothing new” people and the trolls, there’s nowhere to get any feedback on what I write.
I don’t ever know if a dev. even looks at my stuff, or anyone’s stuff for that matter, at all.
Am I supposed to be on some other fan forum like HaloGaf or whatever, where people like Frankie actually reply?
If so, what’s the point of official forums?
If not, what’s the point of even writing?
If it’s just the Halo 4 section, where’s the real place to post suggestions?
I’m asking this here because I’m not even sure of how these forums work anymore and I’m just about to give up.
Well one of the problems is most definitely the community, which is something that only the members themselves can fix. Unfortunately, people won’t want to stop being rude for the sake of others, so it’s something we need to deal with and ignore, unfortunately.
As for the devs seeing the suggestions, they do read the forums for feedback more often than you’d think. This is the main place for them to see what the fans think, but that doesn’t mean that they need to reply. Don’t worry, your voice will be heard.
But alas, the point of the forums is to enjoy discussing Halo with other players, as simple as that.

I guess.
It’s just that this is setting my brain on fire at a particularly bad time it’s getting the better of me.
Any suggestions for what place in the forums I should hang out at?
I’m no lore buff, I don’t make models or armor, I don’t make videos or screenshots. All I know is game design, really.

General Discussion is good for some Halo-related chit-chat and to get to know members of the community in ways that go beyond their Roll Call threads! Matchmaking is good if you enjoy discussion gameplay and the overall matchmaking experience that Halo has to offer. If you’re feeling a little argumentative (but please, keep it civil), Halo 4 and Halo Reach are great to venture into!
I’m sorry you feel like that, people can be rude, especially over the internet. You should probably try the different forums sometimes like the “General Discussions” where discussions don’t tend to get so heated. Also, if you have any concerns about how you’ve been treated, you can always PM bs angel about it. Hopefully she can straighten things out.
Our forums are full of people who are extremely passionate about the franchise. That level of passion sometimes leads to heated debates, but only because of how much people care. If a post crosses the line and breaks our rules, please report it via the button on the bottom right of the post. Our primary goal here is to provide a safe place for Halo discussion, so we enforce our rules 100% of the time. Unfortunately our moderators can’t be in all places at all times, though, so we rely on the community to let us know when something is amiss.
I hope you stick around. It seems like you could contribute a lot to this place.

Thanks for stopping by; it’s much appreciated.
I’m not going to post some reading recommendations on my older threads, but maybe writing about the game and gameplay tweaks is my niche after all.
However, I think that from now on, I’ll stay away from the latest hype-fueled craze in these forums, unless it’s just a post-and-go/put-it-on-record thing.
It’s rather toxic to stay too long otherwise. Like a kill boundary.
It’s a real shame you have not enjoyed your time in these forums, As for me personally i’ve always been made to feel pretty welcome by most,
Don’t get me wrong occasionally people do flame up, But the key is just take smart comments with a pinch of salt, smile and move on.
