Hi there. I know that you will probably bash me about being bad at the game and staff but your campaign is really cheap! I am playing on Legendary and it gets on my nerves when the AI just uses the “power abilities” and destroys my units in just 2 seconds. In addition to that, the orders that I give are taking a long time to be executed by my units so trying to run away from the abilities 90% of the time doesn’t work because of this. Except that, these abilites are being used way to frequently resulting in a boring and frustrating experience for the game. I just feel that you couldn’t make it hard enough and so you try to make it hard with these cheap moves.
Ya. the Leader powers in the campaign are far to powerful and annoying. its not difficult its punishing. because they are used every 30 secs. whats worse is they dont even need line of sight on your units. they just plop it down. i like it when the games Campaign AI are restricted to the same mechanics as the player. 5 min cooldown on Wipe powers. same with the cleansing beam.
it even got so bad that i just resorted to using the after party skull and repeatedly self destruct a HQ/Minibase for free Tanks and marines just to get past the missions.

I beg to differ they are constantly using their cleansing power, this is most annoying on the sniper mission. And I have completed all on legendary say I can back my claim up.

Though you guys are right, the best help I’ve had is using the Nightingale’s Y ability it stops completely.

Oh don’t even get me started…that mission took an hour because of the dual cleansing beam.

On legendary my minibases kept getting destroyed in the 2nd section, I advanced and got pushed back ,like a tug of war, took me 3 hours, I was getting pissed.

They shouldn’t have the ability to glass and micro. Or even worse Dual cleansing beam.

In the halo FPS games, you deal with a lot of cheap things. I remember spending hours in halo 4,5, MCC, and reach trying to get past difficult spots that would be. The legendary is a cheap thing. But it is a challenge for those who seek one. Like dark souls games. You do it because it is hard.

I know it’s supposed to be hard but we are talking about a Real Time Strategy here. How are we supposed to make a strategy if the enemy is constantly using an overpowered weapon based on luck, that’s if they use or not.

You don’t attack with a huge wave. StarCraft trains you to constantly be producing units. if you don’t have some unit being constructed or going to be, you are wasting time. I have not played it on legendary yet so I have no idea what it is like, but it seems like that is what you need to do

I did send units in small waves, they just kept using cleansing and the power burst ability. Which stuns units, whilst doing damage. No way around it.
Like most of you said, it’s not that it’s difficult, no, in any way,it isn’t. You will eventually progress the level, but instead of doing it in 1 hour you’ll need 3. Legendary on other Halo’s is bearable even n Halo Wars 1, but this is just annoying, they’re wiping out a full army in seconds and it’s literaly nothing that you can do. Also, this happens when there is absolutely no line of sight, it’s just happening because the game wants it to happen. Finally, as some other poster said, it’s an rts. You do not in any way expect me to build an army with no proper base (mission 9) that gets destroyed in half a second and then have to rebuild it just to get destroyed again in the most cheap way ever seen by humanity. Also, in many missions of the game i have the feeling that the game is not playing RTS, it just spawns units which is also frustrating.
I dont know that I can agree with this nearly enough. I’m on mission 11 of the campaign right now, and honestly I haven’t had any real issues cause me to get stuck in the campaign. The issue is that the campaign simply isnt difficult, and the legendary AI is easily outstripped by the player in the game. Its just how utterly cheap the game is. The only scaling difficulty in the game is that the enemy starts with full tech and then they have an almost 0 cooldown on leader abilities.
The problem with this is it doesn’t make it difficult at all, it just makes it tedious, especially when even the quickest units on the map cannot outrun a glassing beam. It literally just adds time to missions forcing you to have to rebuild masses of units over and over again instead of adding any real threat to the game.
What’s your army doing so grouped up one beam kills them?
The legendary AI leader powers do have a cooldown just like yours. When you build up a big army and are ready to send them in make sure that you send in a small group of about 4 marine squads first. The AI will waste its cleansing beam on these. This small group shouldnt be too small or the AI wont bother using the cleansing beam on them. You might want to send two small forces in if the AI has the vortex leader power too. As soon as the AI wastes the leader power that you are frightened of then immediately send in your main force.
I had little to no issues beating it on Legendary. Seems that it isn’t the Campaign AI being cheap. But your tactics are poorly executed
