I feel so old

And I’m not even talking about Halo CE. I started playing Halo with Halo 3. I played a bit of Reach when that came out and that was that. Seeing all these threads talking about the other Halo games, with the mechanics and lore etc, I am so lost!

I have a lot of catching up to do. Not even sure where to start. For now, I’m playing through Halo CE and will probably run through Reach campaign. I guess I’ll have to wait for the other titles to come out up to Halo 4. I don’t even think I knew there was a Halo 5. And now Infinite? Damn!

I played Halo: Combat Evolved on PC, this morning.

Don’t think of it as being ‘old’…think of it as…an aged veteran returning to the trenches - should that be your decision.

I should know. I’m currently working my way back up the Reach rankings on my XBox 1, having converted from my old 360 console.

Love it - it is absolutely up to the Old Warriors to Hold The Hammer High and hold both 343 and noobs accountable.

Well that makes me feel a bit better. Thanks!

Well said, mate.

I feel similarly, OP. I wish I had kept up with playing Halo 5, but I stopped to focus on school. Now I’m so far behind.

I’m working on the books though. Have you read any of them?

I played the original Halo a lot when hanging out with my cousins. We’d stay up all night doing a LAN party. Halo 2 campaign was great, but at the time I didn’t have a lot of friends to play online with. Now for Halo 3, I stayed up for launch; went to the midnight release, and then felt like crud at school because I played until dawn with 0 sleep… as tired as I was I went home, drank some Mt. Dew Game Fuel, and kept it going for a 2 day binge. Halo 3 multiplayer will always have a place in my heart/memories. Wasn’t a big fan when they did the whole EXP overhaul thing, but that’s just a nitpick thing.

Other than that, glad to see you back! I picked up the MCC on Steam and I’m glad I did. I have yet to play Halo 5 myself (I stopped right after Halo 4 because of the birth of my first child). I’ve been 97% PC/3% Xbox for the last couple years so I’m actually going to plug that console in that’s collecting dust and take advantage of the Game Pass that I’m not using lol.

I’ve had to pare down my video game franchises that I’ve been interested in considerably since I’ve picked up adult responsibilities (basically, a few years after Reach’s launch). I used to play a ton of games that came out, all the mainstream FPS and then a lot of story games - from Halo to CoD to Battlefield to Mass Effect to Dead Space, etc etc.

Now? I don’t even have the time to play Halo AND another game. There are still some exceptions for franchises I really like, such as Gears or Rockstar games. But other than that, in order to know what’s going on in any one gaming title - you have to play it basically solely as an adult.

I have not. Maybe I should look into that.

Many sleepless nights staying up playing Halo 3 SWAT, or sitting in a game, not even playing anymore, just running around while talking about life with friends. Some of the best times of my life!

Yea, same here with the responsibilities. Stopped playing shortly after Halo Reach. I’ve noticed Reach isn’t too active when trying to queue up for Ranked matches and I can only find social matches. I guess that’s good because I’m no where near as good as I used to be in-game. Kinda sad really. I used to be decent!

The good old days. I’m sad reading this because I know I’ve entered the “responsible” stage of my life too. :frowning:

I began playing Halo 3 and that hooked me. I’ve followed the series since I was about 9 and almost always played the games religiously
