Most people know that rank has no reflection of skill in Reach. However in about three threads now I have seen some people say “but that player has played more so they’re probably better.”
This might be true if your rank was only gained through matchmaking, however there’s also firefight and campaign.
SO! I will take a captain with more matchmaking games than a forerunner that runs firefight.

Agreed. I was playing with an inheritor and his groupies of reclaimers and forerunners. I had my mic in and they were gloating and swearing and stuff (like the Americans do) and they were saying that I was crap because of my rank (MYTHIC). I looked at their commendations ‘n’ stuff on my always-close, handy-dandy laptop and looked 'em up because they said I wouldn’t dare… Ok, fatheads… They had only silver MM commendations and all Onyx campaign and firefight. And they lost, miserably. They then mumbled and said that I was cheating (I was not) and left. That just proves how little the ranks really mean…
Oh and they all admitted to being from 10-12 years old after several trollish and nerd rage messages demanding 1v1’s.
I wish that their consoles would explode in front of them and the shrapnel embed itself in their fat little faces… just so there’s less idiots on that game!
