I feel like my favorite bit about all the "Halo is dying" posts is that there seems to be one absolutely forbidden theory no one wants to discuss

Ignorant take downvoted, arena style isnt dead it’s how you do it and make it

Nah, I’d say the arena genre is dying because the games being made in them now are like Halo Infinite.
Players just want to play something fun.
Guarantee you they could remaster blackops 1 and it’d sell like hot cakes and have a bigger player base than halo infinite rn. You know, if they didn’t add MTX.

Splitgate could’ve been that but I’d attribute that to the marketing. Lots of games flop these days just because they can’t get any traction, and I’d wager some of that goes into ‘but I’ve spent so much money on cosmetics for this game…’ or ‘I’ve gotta work on this battlepass before this battlepass’.
*EDIT: I’ve gotta try out LEAP, it’s PC and ps5 exclusive though so I don’t see that being a popular option here at least. But that’s a game that looks good imo but has almost zero marketing as well.

EDIT: PC Gamer just posted an Article featuring Infinites ‘season 2 infinite battle pass’
dude. Infinite battle pass?
You mean a progression system.
Smh.

And the bare bones gamemodes, little customization on launch, unbalanced demons, small map pool…
