When Halo 4 was shown off I was amazed. I had high hopes for the series that had been extinguished after reach came out. When the Battle Rifle was shown it became obvious that 343 was listening to us. I was happy when 343 said that the Battle Rifle would function almost like it did in halo 3. I’m happy that the assault rifle was returned as it is a standard weapon.
But then the DMR was announced to be included. I don’t feel like this belongs in Halo 4.
The canon behind Halo 4 is supposed to be right after Halo 3 right? so why would the DMR be there if it was abandoned in every other Halo. Also in the past with Halo 2 and Halo 3 we had very different weapons like the mauler,SMG and spiker. Almost a full arsenal of dual wields so where are those now? same with missile pods, sentinel beams and even the carbine. Are we just going to say goodbye to them and welcome in a rifle thats meant to be way older? or do we get to see revisions of the cherished weapons from Halo 3?
Most Halo fans don’t even enjoy the DMR so is 343 really listening to us by including it? Next thing you know weapons like the needle rifle will show up.
I think we deserve more weapons from Halo 3 to not only keep the canon and give more variety.
This wall of text in no way is directed towards new weapons in Halo 4 that havent been in any previous Halo games.
Remember that part when they said multiplayer has it’s own story behind it?
That means they can add anything they want in Multiplayer pretty much.
On a side note, DMR =/= Reach
They want to please as many fans as possible. The argument between the BR and DMR is one of the more popular ones out there and it is probably very clear to 343 that the community is split. If you don’t like the DMR then simply don’t use it.

1.Well you haven’t played with the DMR in Halo 4 yet so how can you feel like it doesn’t belong.
2. Most Halo fans don’t like the DMR the way it is used in Reach. Ex. Bloom just doesn’t work for many of us.
3. I would love to see the needle rifle show up. I like it more than the DMR.
And cannon has nothing to do with it. It’s multiplayer! The Plasma Rifle wasn’t supposed to be used on Reach but it was in multiplayer. if you forged it.

Halo 4 has sprint, the DMR and gameplay-changing customizations.

Each Halo game is more gimmicky and dumbed-down than the previous.
So you see, Halo 4 will be another gimmicky game like Reach.
