I’m guessing, and maybe I’m throwing on my Tin Foil hat EVA variant, that Halo 5 will have a massive twist and or turn somewhere in the Game. I got a couple reasons to believe this.
1. Halo 4 - (Spoiler alert…but its been three years…) - How can anyone forget the end of Halo 4? This was a major surprise to anyone that hadn’t leaked the ending before, such a major Character like that, an established part of the universe, gone. I get the feeling 343 enjoys creating twists and turns like this, where as Bungie focused more on the Bad–Yoink- side of Halo and shooting Zombies in the face with your mates on a couch, 343 seems very interested in creating a dark, hazardous, and surprising story. Not saying 343 is making a lame novel like game, though, not at all. They are simply looking at Halo in a different way, the same way it looked like Bungie started to do after Halo 3. We all saw that beautiful red team trailer. That was insane. The Hype right now…
2. Halo the Sprint - Remember that sick series released around E3? In that Bonnie Ross talked a couple times about how interested the studio was in making sure that once a player had completed a game, they felt surprised, refreshed. If that wasn’t a potential hint that Halo 5 was gonna have a big twist, well then maybe we’ll see some interesting Alien - Human relationships come about…
3. All of the Halo 5 Campaign Trailers, and also comments about Campaign length - A couple of months ago we got a tease from the good ol Frank O’Connor stating that Halo 5’s campaign will be twice as long as Halo 4’s Campaign. Now Halo 4’s campaign wasn’t exactly short, and whether or not Frankie means that just because of all the different pathways and sizes of levels, I am not sure. But one thing I do know is that it doesn’t seem like many different missions have been shown in the different trailers. There is Meridian, The Space station, Sanghelios, and unless if I’m missing any, that’s it. I feel like 343 is hiding a lot of The missions locations or content because they will be major changes from what we expected.
Now, maybe I’m wrong and Halo 5 will contain a run of the mill story, and just some shooting aliens. But I feel like it will be dark, mysterious, and surprising. Even if it is not, I am still hyped to see what will happen next and am especially hyped for Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer. One month and counting!
