I have had friends and I myself have suggested a few things that we would like to see added or changed about Halo 4. We try to do it in the most constructive way possible, yet every time are threads get locked. Why is it when I try to honestly to voice my opinion about something in Halo 4 I get shut down immediately? Does 343i not want fan feedback? I have been a Halo fan since 2001 and never have I been “punished” for constructive criticism.
What are the rules about voice an opinion about Halo 4? Does it need to be done in a certain forum? Or is Halo waypoint a 0 criticism of Halo 4 environment?
We do not moderate people solely for criticizing 343 Industries or any Halo game. If we did, a good portion of the moderators (myself included) would have to ban themselves.
If you have concerns about specific moderation actions taken against you, feel free to PM a moderator with questions.
Make you sure go to the right forum. War Games Feedback and Multiplayer are probably where most of the constructive criticism should go. Also, very little new has been put forward lately… you’re likely to find a few existing threads that are many pages long which already cover your topic of choice.

Easier said than done. You realize that when you ban someone they are locked out of their Inbox right?
My “main” account has perma-banned because my overly aggressive roommate has been “spamming” the forums from alt-accounts once his main was banned. Either ya’ll mistakenly associated my account with all those alts or you (whichever mod banned me) is just pissed I disagree about the direction 343 is taking Halo.
Now while I agree with everything my roommate says about Halo 4, I’ve always been an upstanding forum citizen and have taken my bans with pride (even though they are usually unwarranted) and come back after the ban is done. I don’t make alts to get by a ban (except for right now because your reply was too juicy to pass up).
I would be more vocal with the moderators who banned me (because I feel the bans have been unwarranted) however like I said, you must wait for the ban to end to be able to read why you were banned, by who, and challenge it…which is ridiculous.
Now I don’t really give a -Yoink- about my main account - it seems pretty clear that I have been deemed a threat by a few of you moderators - but I find it insulting that you just tell him to “feel free to PM a moderator with questions” when he can’t - and if he does make an alt to do so, he is subject to another ban for “bypassing a ban by creating an alternate account.”

I moved it here because it’s much more relevant to forum rules and policies than it is to Halo 4.
We don’t move threads to other sections to “kill” them. We move threads to the sections where they should’ve been created in the first place, so that it is easier for people to find discussions on matters they are interested in.

I meant no offense and I agree with at least half of the thread moving. I just thought it was a little funny that this guy’s thread about censorship got moved so quickly.
There is more than enough criticism toward Halo 4. I find that as long as you don’t personally insult someone or intentionally post to cause an issue you can voice your opinion toward any aspect of the game without being banned or it being locked.
Threads being moved is no big issue also, its happened to me and most all threads die out unless its a very hot and popular topic.

Bans longer than seven days can be appealed by email.
Bans shorter than that can be appealed after the fact, and if we did make a mistake, we will take that into account when dealing with the affected user in the future. I know that that is not optimal, but there are good reasons for locking users out of their inbox while banned.
During my first few weeks on this site – back when different forum software was in use – I was on the receiving end of the banhammer. I know not everyone responds to a ban the same way, but I’ve been in your position. I personally found it helpful that I was given no explanation of my ban until after the fact, as it made me less likely to hold grudges (I wasn’t very nice back then…) and therefore less likely to cause further disruption upon returning to the forums.
