They need to nerf the bloom mechanic in Halo infinite and bring back the voting system
250ms is not playable and the threshold for what is considered a good connection must be lowered.
Australia is not a small community, we have a huge community of players.
The MAJORITY of my games are 180-250ms.
I have accepted that I will never have an enjoyable BTB match with a ping under 100. It hasn’t happened a single time since launch. So I will not queue for it anymore.
80-90% of my quickplay matches are over 100ms.
I can reluctantly deal with 90ms, which are SEA servers, but anything more is atrocious and makes me want to stop playing.
I have no confidence it will ever be addressed, as the focus
of 343 is feedback from NA players, and their concerns.
Smaller regions simply won’t be heard, and the issue of region selection is not noticed whatsoever. Just look at the posts claiming to consolidate all major feedback. No mention of being forced into 250ms games in any of them.
We have to be loud about this or the oceanic region WILL die.
What do you mean by this? It’s currently fine.
The 1st to 3rd to 1st camera is jarring to me.
So you are talking about the veiw shift between rounds in round based modes like Odball rather than the intro at the start of a match?
No no, when you’ve been killed and you’re waiting to respawn I would like to watch the players in first person, not 3rd person that it currently is, when I respawn I find it jarring to go back into 3rd.
This is how it’s always been in Halo but it’d be nice to have the option to switch to first person when spectating, a lot can be learned from a different perspective.
Definitely agree that it will lose them profits. Yeah, maybe being money grubby will work out in the short term, but if they want to get money long term they need player retention. They need players to care about progression. They need people to love Infinite. Do that, and even if things are a bit cheaper/easier, they’ll make more money and the game will be more healthy for it.
It definitely is too late. First impressions are absolutely the most important. Look at Cyberpunk for a recent example. It had a botched launch. Now it doesn’t matter how many bug fixes CD projekt releases. It doesn’t matter if they give away free DLC. It doesn’t matter if they address player concerns such as adding a transmog system. It doesn’t matter if they announce expansions or a next gen version. The initial hype they had is gone. They can’t get it back no matter what they do. If 343 loses the hype they had built up over this game, they won’t get it back. The game will be worse off for it. Fixing issues now is more important than fixing them in a few years, or even 6 months from now.
I’m gonna back this up. This “fix” to give us 50 XP per win? Pitiful.
Much of what you’ve stated I think a lot of us stated this during the flights. It’s sad that they don’t seem to have listened to us. I mean, what’s the point of feedback if you’re not going to listen and improve.
The obvious cash grab is also poor optics for MS who is trying to push Gamepass as the end all be all for gamers. It makes it look like 343i is concerned they won’t make back their development costs as the game will be available on Gamepass on day 1 of release, so to stem the tide they’re trying to use this F2P model in hopes of making some of that up. Maybe I’m over-thinking that, IDK, but it feels like that to me.
Something else that has been bugging me, it’s clear there are a number of game modes when you open the Game List in Quickplay or Ranked Arena. Why lock those behind getting them randomly? Why force everyone to play all the same modes? Maybe some people want to play Capture the Flag while other want Deathmatch while others might want Oddball. This just seems very minimal and further removes player agency, which is important for the longevity of the game. Making it so I can specifically choose which game types I choose to play is important. Doing things this way would still allow for Quickplay to exist, making it something more akin to a sampler platter so maybe a new player can hop in there and see some of the modes and decide, which mode really speaks to me.
I also wholeheartedly agree with the credits per match bit. $10 for a skin?! Are you effin’ kidding me?! The prices on the cosmetics are outlandish as well and it bothers me there is no way to earn a way to those by just playing the game. Don’t get me started on the cash grab that Destiny 2 has become, but, at least in D2 there’s a way to earn some of those cosmetics without spending real $$$, When I am able to go grab something that I see other players buying for real money, I feel a sense of accomplishment in that I earned it and didn’t just give up and spend money.
Bottomline, I don’t feel like my time is compensated. If this is what it takes for Halo Multiplayer to be free, then I say, scrap the BP, remove it from F2P and tie it back in to buying the full game.
Am I the only ones who wishes we could go back to the old ranking system? So sick of this bronze through plat BS
Thanks for explaining your complaints, I agree with them, but it’s way too soon for the “In two days they will abandon support cause no one will play”. It’s not the end of the world.
They are listening, and hopefully, they’ll improve the progression system.
Their improvements are replacing or making new challenges while lowering xp. That’s what they have shown. This is antithetical to what most of the people on the forums that I have seen, have said. No one wants challenges as a sole way to gain XP, and there has been nothing from 343 to respond to this feedback.
No it’s not. People and critics are enjoying the game, which by the way hasn’t launch yet and is still in beta.
It currently has a 74% on Steam and it’s the 4th most played game there with 147,000 players.
Even the negative reviews there highlight that, while changes must be done to the progression and mode selection, everything else is really fun.
Other games like Battlefield have a 25% of positive reviews and 88,000 players after launching yesterday.
So yeah, it is neither too late nor the game is doomed.
Read the person I replied to. I wasn’t saying it’s too late right now. I was saying it would be too late after Season 1.
I agree, the gameplay is great outside the progression issue and the lack of proper body types. I rather enjoyed playing, but that’s not my point. I’m not saying the game is going to die, or that it’s bad. I’m saying, what I believe most other people would agree with. Is that this progression system is hurting the game, and needs to be replaced entirely.
I also agree with you, first impressions are always the most important. Cyberpunk was a great example, as most of the people that had issues with it, hardly returned once said issues (or most of the said issues) were fixed.
Infinite may be in beta, but first impressions still count, and the recent fix to the progression system was a low blow by 343.
I mean, No Man’s Sky was a pretty amazing comeback story.
I wouldn’t say Infinite is doomed from its first impression JUST yet. If we launch on the 8th with no changes then there is a problem
Yeah, it’s not that the game is doomed from the start. The gameplay and everything are fine, sure there are ‘some’ bugs and balancing issues. But aside from body types, the main issue is the progression, and if that doesn’t get fixed by the 8th then you’re right. There would be problems. The worst part about this that I see, is that most of those who approve of this new system. Are those who have never played a Halo game before, and are coming from other games. It’s sad when I hear people refer to “The Master Chief” as “Halo”…
Absolutely correct. Slow slow system for progression
