I fear for the future of multiplayer after just 1 day

it’s early access of what we’re getting on December 8th. New stuff doesn’t come until March 2022.

We get the rest of the maps modes on the 8th.

Nothing about the monetization? Look at the armor coatings, most of them could’ve been created by the player in older titles. The free pass almost exclusively give “Challenge Skips”. Credit where credit is due the battle pass price is surprisingly reasonable, but free to play players are absolutely getting shafted. Why grind the pass at all when you have 30 “Challenge Skips” to slog through before you get anything?

Not to mention the pricing of loose cosmetics not tied to the battle pass. In what world is a single armor set worth 20$, or 13$ colors?

Outside of that I fully agree with you OP, but the monetization side is something I find just as egregious.

I agree with all the above. Other issues I’ve noticed that really take away, is the clunkyness of the gravity hammer, it pales in comparison to its predecessor and what made it so much fun, there’s the issue with the lack of player collision, ttk issues.vehicles feel like paper, which is a first. And most of the weapons feel useless. I’m not being salty here. These are issues we reported during the technical tests

I thought about including the monetization issue but the core issues I posted about feel more important for the life of the game to me right now. The monetization is horrible as well but I feel like that’s something the community can really push for after we get something so fundimental and easy as per match exp. But for the record I completely agree with you, I’m just picking my battles.

Also, players that don’t like objective based games won’t get xp, it also means some players will probably play games they don’t and just muck around for the xp. It’s not a good system at all.

The thing is, if they did per match xp and upped the challenge of weeklies, people might be more willing to spend one of their swaps. Right now there are like 25 weeklies a week, most of them arbitrary and doable if you get lucky and join the right game type/map. Why would I waste a limited resource on something that takes usually less than 1 game to complete when the next one is going to be more or less the exact same thing?

If these were like MCC, where there’s only 6 a week, but take actual time to complete, I’d actually consider swapping some. Sometimes I just do not want to win certain game modes or get 20 objective metals. Giving me the option to swap those out for something that I would like actually.

I simply don’t understand why they didn’t just rip the tried and tested progression of the MCC.

Could not agree more!! If it ain’t broke don’t fix it maybe just polish it a bit, but 343 destroyed a good system.

Next season? that will be too late, look at the complaining, it’s already happening everywhere(this forum, reddit, resetera, twitter and many other places) and comes with loads of reply agree with the people that open the thread, they need to add pre match xp in December 8(full game release date) at the latest, otherwise the playerbase will be shrink really fast, or even people who don’t care about progression/battle pass will find out too few people still playing this game and just leave.

As someone who hates having the chore of challenges, I completely agree with this. So much fun but yeah the progression is absolutely terrible. Also 5 stars to saying something about earning credits per game won (or even for free through the BP like COD where it takes getting to tier 80 to get enough points for the next pass).

Most of the issues you have personally are already addressed by 343i. They have stated they are working on a better progression system and that it will be built from scratch so it will take some time. They want to do it right instead of pushing out some crappy system.

I have come to realize that 343i has actually gotten a lot better because of Staten being on the team. At least for me, it seems that way.

Have patience. They aren’t genies who can just poof things into existence because you express dissatisfaction over something. They are hearing us and they will improve this game. Patience is key.

I also think the challenges should give double the xp they’re currently giving at least

My main issues for now are:

  • no per match xp

  • no red reticle on pc (I play with controller and it feels weird not to have it)

  • pc performance has still room for improvement

  • no separate playlists for different gamemodes/weapon starts

  • i feel like the commando was better before the nerf, more fun to use and in a more unique spot within the sandbox

  • frags/rocket explosions need more brightness/opacity

Aiming on controller has definitely improved a lot, I suggest to turn look acceleration to 5, look input max threshold to 0 and pick a comfortable sentitivity setting

Exp for medals. Reward varying amounts based on the existing ‘rarity’ already assigned to medals in game. Perform better, better rewards. Saw a losing game though to the end and earnt a few killjoy or comeback kill medals, get a little exp to made you feel a little bit better.

You forgot the biggest issue: the feel of the game doesn’t behave like Halo at all.

They have said they are looking into options, this doesn’t really fill me with confidence. I’m a very patient fellow but I fear by the time they decide on what to implement it’ll be too late for the overall health of the MP.

This is everything ive been saying all day, agree with every point

Exactly this.

It’s really telling when most of the lobby is going for challenges or AFKing (because you get penalized for quitting but not AFKing) vs trying to (somewhat) work as a team to win the match.
