It’s a really good game that I have on Adrift and and just destroy the other team by getting multiple kills and going clutch in the hill. MLG Shibby just couldn’t handle me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNf-tz0QYNU Watch if you don’t believe me
I would say that’s awesome! But then I saw you use the Boltshot as your secondary and Promethean vision as your perk… So I disliked the video.

Dmr and Boltshot + PV and i’m guessing AA effecientcy…
Cool you got to play with MLG.
Who doesn’t use a DMR and a Bolt shot? Let me guess, you use a Suppressor and a plasma pistol with auto sentry?
beating an MLG player in anything other than MLG settings means nothing.

le gasp…would be lying if i said i never used that. But only after it had been used against me 1/2 the time on adrift. mostly stick to the carbine and suppresser.

I use a DMR + Magnum with either hologram or thruster.
I refuse to use the boltshot because it is a OP nib weapon.

Can you explain this to me? It seems to me if someone is a “pro” at something they should be better than someone even in basic rules. That is like saying beating Kobe Bryant in a street basketball game means nothing.

Pro basketball has a strict set of rules that are binding in all competitions, there is no randomness, only skill & good/bad plays, this is the same in MLG Halo.
Street basketball rules can vary between games, and many factors are added that increase randomness and therefore take some of the skill out of the game, to be replaced with luck (no barge penalties are an example of this). This increases the chances of a non pro player beating a pro player that otherwise would have dominated.
The above is much more prominent in Video games than sport as there are so many customisation options in “casual” games.
There are simply too many random factors to determine who is a “better” player. Loadouts, random ordinance and personal ordinance are just some of those factors. An MLG player would dominate most non MLG players in MLG settings because the game becomes all about skill, awareness & teamwork, rather than luck.
I am by no means a “Pro” halo player, I’m not even very good (i’m happy to have a positive k/d, that’s it), but I understand completely how this game is broken in terms of competitive play (until a MLG playlist is released).
If the Boltshot is OP why not use it??? Everyone in any game you go into [WILL] be using it. Do you like getting kills? Do you like to rank up? It has Challenges to rank you up as well as getting you kills meaning more Exp to rank you up. If it helps win the game why can’t I use it? Its free to everyone to use and that is your choice to use it or not. An OP weapon will get buffed down so use it before they fix it.
PS.
You should switch weapons before the boltshot goes off if you know you are going to miss.
