I mean, I don’t usually play Matchmaking on parties or with a friend, I am always alone (̶L̶o̶n̶e̶ ̶W̶o̶l̶f̶ ̶4̶e̶v̶e̶r̶). So, every time I play Slayer or Team Arena, obviously I get defeated by parties because I get matched with random players (sometimes they don’t have a mic, or they are AFK)
I just wanted to express my discontent, I know that they are not gonna bring a “Solo players vs Solo players/Parties vs Parties” option. But, why I commonly get matched with parties?
Yeah, I wish there was some type of workaround for this. The sad truth is you just always need a Halo posse if you want to get ahead. Free-for-all is an option, but team play is hard without concrete communication.
This has been a problem since Halo Reach. Bungie had party restrictions in Halo 3, but for some reason they took it out. Playing against a full party with a team of randoms is not fun at all.
Older halo’s placed parties with parties and randoms with randoms 343 messed up or just dont know how code it in the game.

Oh, I remember that. In my old account I used to have that option.
That’s where you are wrong. In arena, it works just like halo 3. If you are a full team then you will only search full teams. If you are playing alone, you will only match people who are pared as 1. 2 or 3s

Reach didn’t have it either as said by the post above you, can’t blame 343 for everything.

They need to fix the party restrictions. I match parties all the time while searching alone. It’s frustrating.

He’s wrong, party restrictions aren’t as strict in Halo 5. It’s a normal thing for a full party to match singles. I’ve been on both ends of it, and they really need to fix it.

Can confirm that’s -Yoink-. Got placed vs. a four man premade yesterday in slayer and I was queuing solo.

well reach sucked so my bad.
I’ve played almost all of my matches as a random b/c all of my friends have left Halo 5 for other games. It just emphasizes how stupid the ranking system is b/c you won’t do well as a random. I’m usually the only one doing call-outs and there’s no strategy.
Yep overall I like the matchmaking but it does suck when you get matched against a party of 4 when you go in solo or even as a pair. It’s easy to tell because you just get yoinked on pretty hard and is practically impossible to take cover as you just get called out and shot from elsewhere. Also it doesn’t help when your teammates are also all solo and have no mics. You try your best to co-ordinate them but they just run off regardless. So inevitably every time you enter a gunfight it’s 1v2 or 1v3 etc.
The worst thing though is definitely being matched against a full party of 4 while on a foreign sever, not only are you already handicapped because of the teamwork/ co-ordination but now your guns also so do jack -Yoink-. What would normally be a perfect kill now barely drains their shields so it’s like 343 giving you not one but two middle fingers.

This is completely not true. This weekend my brother and I were playing Breakout and we were matched with EG Snipedown, EG Lunchbox and his two other teammates 3 times in row (yes, we backed out of the lobby and waited a couple of minutes to join again). The party matchmaking system is very flawed, but at least we are finding games fast.

I seem to be matched against parties often and get destroyed. Time to start playing with friends now
