Yes. I totally understand. You’ll be chastised for just not playing the game for fun. But really I don’t care what they say. In your head you know every time you play without a XP gain you’ve just gotta go back and do it all over again to make up for lost time.
Cut your play time to one day and plan it out. All I can tell you.
If rank is how you get your fun out of Halo, you don’t deserve to be playing video games anyway. Did anyone need ranks to enjoy Super Mario Bros. back in 1985?
I got the LE so no . . . but I can understand and WOULD possibly feel the same way. Although people will hate you for the comment, those people don’t understand how fun is subjective and different for everybody.
Hmmm… I don’t want to play anymore because I’m near 130.
> If rank is how you get your fun out of Halo, you don’t deserve to be playing video games anyway. Did anyone need ranks to enjoy Super Mario Bros. back in 1985?
How dare somebody’s definition of fun be different to yours…
YOU’RE the one who needs to stop playing if that’s really how you feel.
ebay has plenty of spec codes, and deadeye, pulse etc
> I got the LE so no . . . but I can understand and WOULD possibly feel the same way. Although people will hate you for the comment, those people don’t understand how fun is subjective and different for everybody.
Just because it’s subjective doesn’t make it any less shallow and ridiculous.
I stil played when I hit 70. I just had to switch out weapon choices. Because I had some commendations up to master, and they would give 10000 xp for completing. So I understand not wanting to play because that xp would just be lost. Nothing wrong with wanting to wait.

Lemme guess, you’re one of those people who fall back on the word ‘opinion’ when you don’t have legitimate reasons to back up your views? Because that’s what’s happening here.
You’re not playing for the enjoyment of the game, you’re playing for the artificial value you feel when you see that dumb number next to your name, and THAT’s why you don’t deserve to play. You completely disregard the game itself in favor of self-satisfaction, which is insulting to 343i, or any game developer.
Yes, it’s your way of having fun, but it’s also, like I said, shallow and ridiculous. Even then, it makes no sense. What meaning does that number have if you’re not even playing the game to enjoy THE GAME to begin with? What, I ask you?

Your a idiot.
How would games sell if they didn’t reward the player in someway?
Gears of war, Cod, BF, MOH all have a ranking system, because it keeps the players engage.
And then you go on that people disregard the game itself, How? I’ll still play the campaign and forge and customs, but i won’t be playing online because i’ll be losing XP from commendations that can help me once the other specs unlock.
I GET ENJOYMENT FROM PLAYING HALO4, I DON’T GET ENJOYMENT FOR PLAYING AND NOT GETTING REWARDED WHILE OTHERS ARE BECAUSE THEY BROUGHT A DIFFERENT EDITION.

To you it’s shallow and ridiculous and I can respect that, but to him it’s not and you need to understand that it is the way the OP is wired. He thinks differently than you so where you find fun in playing the game and looking at his viewpoint as shallow and ridculous . . . he finds fun in pushing through news ranks and he might look at your viewpoint as pointless and without a goal.
You don’t have to agree with him, but you do have to try to understand him.

Exactly this, thank you. I get fun from a sense of achievement. which is why i love 100% games. because i get satisfactions from it.

not sure about moh , but the other games all have levelling systems, not ranks. just like h4 and reach.
Lets look at what will be lost if the people that are capped at 70 continue to play even though they are capped.
XP lost from war games
XP lost from spartan ops
XP lost from commendations
New armor
New emblems
New tactical packages
New support upgrades
Weapon skins
Armor skins
Now if you are ok with all this and are having fun that’s fine. But if you are not ok with the lose of this stuff. I agree with you. Specializations should of been in game at launch to avoid people not playing when they cap at 70 and have to wait however long for an update to come out.
TodayFob226083 technically sweetie you are wrong. By not being able to pass 70, the player is missing out on multiple aspects of the game. So you “opinion” which you can have doesn’t make sense. I don’t want to see the number go up. I want to go thru the specializations which is part of the game. The game I would love to enjoy if I could gain excess to it. That isn’t shallow. Maybe you don’t quite uderstand the words you are using. So precious how is that for “have legitimate reasons to back up your views”!

Wait insulting to 343 when they put in the mechanic in the first place to reward players for playing their game. Your self righteous in the defense of your fair lady 343 is quite amusing, when in fact they simply could have just gone and completely removed all bonus content and simply had you jump into a generic Spartan model with a generic BR rifle. No VSR, NO Armor, No Load outs. Instead they opted to install an XP counter to everything so you can unlock it. They put it in there for one great reason. Halo is not fun anymore.
Don’t kid yourself there’s not much fun in this game other than the next unlock. The community? What the guys EMPing my ride or splattering me? Betraying, AFking, teabagging the rock in the corner, Those guys every match.
What the Developers. Yeah I see them in here all the time letting us know what their working on. I know them on a first name basis. I would love to see them in here, I wouldn’t bring the hate at all, I would actually be relieved.
What the guns? You mean the one rifle that kills everything at every distance and the one pistol that shotguns everybody.
The vehicles? Hey I love NOOO new innovation in my rides. That makes me really unhappy. A Mantis that walks like old man winter, yeah wow. Three maps a rotation and gametypes always falling away. No Firefight. One day of Spartan Ops greatness and all others become a nightmare thanks in part to the community. I’m glad your having fun there Mr. Play the Game for fun. Maybe I can find fun by splattering my teammates like everyone else. No thank you.
Yeah you gotta pay me to play this game. The Xp cap sucks and it’s a wake up call when you hit it.
it’s no secret SPEC tracks would be released on a slow timeline with two out of the gate for normal edition. this has been no secret for a long, long, long time. the criers that even got a email should be kissing so much butt right now.
> a generic Spartan model with a generic BR rifle. No VSR, NO Armor, No Load outs. Instead
you mean halo? oh the humanity!
Really that’s all they have to do. So simple right? You’d think so.
