I don’t want a visible ranking system. I know there’s tons of threads complaining about all the harm a visible ranking system would do, and I can’t help but agree. It encourages cheaters, boosting, and selling accounts. With an invisible ranking system, we can goof off. I can drive a warthog around with no gunner the entire time, and it doesn’t matter anyways. I’ll still get xp and rank up whether we win or lose. Face it, competitive players are the minority.

Nothing personal, but I find it extremely annoying when I’m trying to win a match and some goof off is driving around crashing into stuff with the warthog and not contributing.

However, I have a slight suspicion I just gave you the response you were looking for.

I’m just gonna say that it shouldn’t be a game’s main focus; a game’s main focus is balance, gameplay, and storyline.

Wow. What a terrible thread.

First you copy 343i’s words verbatim. Then you come up with some scenario that only a select few (i.e. minority) will enjoy. Finally, you call out competitive players and tell them to “face it”.

  1. We’ve been through the whole “boosting, bragging, selling” argument. Did you not see all of those sarcastic threads? There is no logic, so don’t act like there is.

  2. Only a select few would enjoy “goofing off” and “driving warthogs around”. I personally do not enjoy that. It’s not fun. Maybe if I’m drunk, I would play some custom games like this, but never War Games. I like competition. I like winning. I enjoy 50-49 games. I enjoy 3-2 CTF games. I enjoy going on Sniper Sprees, but then being out DMR’d and dieing. I don’t enjoy driving around aimlessly.

  3. Competitive players are not the minority. If I had to guess, the populations are fairly even. There are players who enjoy what I described above, and there are players like you. Nobody is taking that away from you. What is being taken away is a ranked playlist that would satisfy the competitive crowd.

The point I’m trying to make is, some people prefer different things than you. I personally don’t believe that you should get Exp. and rank up if you don’t win. It doesn’t make sense.

I don’t see the harm in satisfying a significant portion of the community with ranked play.
