I dont use the DMR boltshot or armorabilities

Here is why: they are too easy to use. I don’t even pick them up if I’m out of ammo in the middle of a fire fight. I would rather take my chances and double back into cover then pick up a DMR and return fire. I dont use armor abilities either. I feel like I would become too dependent on them if I use them too often, (plus the fact that all of them give away your position). Anyone else feel this way?

A good soldier uses all the tools at his disposal for victory. I use them if I want to.

Well, I want to perform my best in every game, and if some weapons are better than others, it would be disadvantageous not to use them.

mad respect for you. i don’t use dmr or boltshot/plasma pistol either. or automatic weapons, needler, jetpack/camo/hardlight/thruster/regen. I do use provis and auto sentry tho

dont blame ya, i dont even use aa’s anymore, mainly cause i forget i have them

U so edgy brah!
Sick burn for all the otherz dude.

I don’t get all this hate for the boltshot, they are completely useless as a secondary if they are not charged, and if you miss that first shot, you are ultimately F**ked

> I use them if I want to.

And this is my main issue with Halo4. You just use what you want. No need to go get it. Nothing is really earned. 90% of what players use in a given game is handed to them. MM is stale to say the least.

I disagree almost entirely. It is outright stupid not to use the tools at your disposal. No armor ability? Come on man, come on. You’re hurting your team.

I do agree that certain things are a bit too strong right now, such as the DMR, but that’s only at long range.
Camo is dirty and its users should be spanked violently though.

I’m mostly a jetpack user, and I can tell you for a fact that rather than giving away my position, it makes me far more elusive and has saved my life more times than I could possibly count.
And how exactly does HLShield give away your position?

And you have to understand that every weapon has its ideal range.
Light Rifle likes really long ranges, ranges that it can scope in on. since 4 hits scoped, 6 hits unscoped. You dont want to be using that thing at close range, ever. (unless their shields are down.) Problem is it leaves a trail of light that points the enemy straight to you.
DMR kills in 5 whether its scoped or unscoped, and doesn’t leave a blatant “IM OVER HERE, LOOK OVER HERE AND SHOOT ME”, and has incredible range on it too. It’s good from long range to mid range, and is alright at close range.
BR, like the DMR, is a 5 burst kill. However its 3 shot burst has a slight spread on it, and so becomes less useful once you get out to long ranges. Kicks -Yoink- at the mid ranges though, and is pretty formidable up close too.
The assault rifle, 6 shots and a punch and they die. a well placed frag or two (with explosives package preferably) and a spray of AR can be a really easy triple kill. It’s the close range king. But outside of close range, it’s just plain crap.

Everything has its place. Adapt to the map.

Except camo. Camo doesnt deserve a place. Screw you camo guys.

Armor Abilities felt like they didn’t belong in this game. I used like crazy in Reach, in Halo 4 I hardly even touch them

Haha, I retract everything I said in my previous post. I don’t use any of that. THERE IS ONLY FIST.

This, also the secondaries (with the exception of the magnum in some cases) are best at CQC.

The only thing I don’t use is camo. I used it twice and it’s like turning Easy mode on; I’d rather just continue hurling my body at objectives and enemies, it’s more fun than sneaking around. I also use different guns for the sheer variety, even if I know the DMR will get me more kills.

I used Camo once in a game of Dominion and I went 34 and 2. I actually laughed when the game was over, TO this day I don’t use it, I feel its cheating.

The whole not using AA got me

That is just outright silly man

did you come here for a cookie, because I’m not giving free handouts. I am only impressed if you do no tact/support mod, no secondary, and no primary, and just melee everyone. that’ll show everyone how ur so much better than the general population Lol

I often burn my paycheck to make life more difficult for me as well. I think my “I’m awesome and hardcore” story beats yours.

Cool story bro

I use the DMR, Pro vision, and extra grenades and shields. I still suck. But I don’t jump around. I hate jumpers and I can’t coordinate an extra button into my mashing routine. Jumping is over powered!

Refusing to use legitimate tools available to help win? Sorry, but there isn’t really much honor or pride to be had by that. A good player uses all tools available were necessary, and different maps/gametypes/opponents call for different strategies.

I use all of the above accordingly.

I gotta say, I agree with the OP.

It doesn’t feel rewarding to kill with most of this stuff in the game. I know I didn’t get that overkill because I’m the better player, I got it because I was lucky enough to have an incineration canon drop at my feet while they got a needler.

I’ll still use AA, like thruster pack, but I won’t be touching the DMR, or Camo, Or boltshot, or any of that.

I want my kills to feel rewarding, to feel like I beat the guy because I was better than him, not because I chose the more powerful weapon.
