I don't understand.

Why is there so much negitivity regarding Halo 4? In my opinion, it looks like the best Halo yet? All the new additions such as Armor Abilities, Tactical Packages, and Support Upgrades are welcome. Makes the game feel fresh. If all they did was make the same game but call it something different because of graphic upgrades, what’d be the point? If you don’t wanna play with the new features there will be a classic playlist, don’t worry. There’s a little something for everyone. So I congradualate 343 for making the future game of the year.

Not everyone shares your opinion about the new additions, and classic playlist isn’t really a solution that would staisfy everyone. After all, getting forced into a single corner of matchmaking becomes boring after a while. There might be something for everyone, but the balance of that something isn’t of the best possible quality. And GotY is just wishful thinking, for that the game actually needs to be special, not like every other game of the same genre.

It’s gonna be my game of the year, and that’s all I need. And you don’t have to play Halo 4 if the additions are not to your liking. If you like Halo 3, play Halo 3. It’s still around, it hasn’t gone anywhere.

What I hate most is that people make it out like multiplayer is the main part of the game and is most important. In my opinion, Halo is about campaign and having fun in a custom game. There’s the campaign, 50 spartan ops mission, forge and custom games. What more do you need to keep somebody satisfied? Also with the announcement of the classic playlists, multiplayer is looking even better.

> People will always find a reason to whine about something, myself included. For example: I whined about the fiction surrounding Grunts, and I whined about the fact that the Halo 4 helmets look terrible. Whether or not these are reasonable things to be upset over, is up to your personal opinion.

Just as long I can tell they’re the grunts I’ve been fighting for over 10 years, I don’t really care what armor they’re wearing. If that’s what you mean?

I’m getting Halo 4 for the Campaign too. That’s how it’s been since I played CE. Love the story. But I’ll get my fair share of War Games afterward.

They’re people who’ve bought Halo 3/Reach and never even touched the campaign. They’re are people that will say they’re big halo fans and have no idea what the flood is. They’re people who are currently playing Halo and don’t know where the title comes from. They’re people who argue the multiplayer is the only part of Halo that matters at all.

These people make me the saddest

HALOZ FOR IZ EPIK!!!

I think Halo 4 is looking great so far, I can’t wait to play it. As for all those people that are pissed they only get one Halo 2 reskin list or think Halo 4 will be bad in general, my suggestion is play Halo 2 or 3, then you get a whole bunch of playlists.

One of my friends didn’t even know that Halo took place in space. And Calls herself a “Halo fan” Ha! She’s never set a single step in Campaign at all.

Indeed. And multiplayer over Xbox Live only came in in Halo 2. I’ve always gotten more value out of the other game modes, especially campaign even though I am a pretty skilled player, I enjoy having fun with my friends on other game modes besides multiplayer.

I don’t particularly mind that the game is taking a different direction in multiplayer, even though I would still like a few things sorted out. A fresh and new experience is always good and I don’t know what they’re complaining about when classic playlists are already confirmed.

I don’t get it either.

I’d like to see a source on that.

Agreed completely. When I think of Halo I think of the Chief, Covies, Flood… everything in the campaign. I don’t think about reds and blues running around killing each other for points. As always, I’ll be playing campaign first. You can’t say you’re a true Halo fan without playing what started it all… the campaign.

Well… why wouldn’t it be in. That’s like saying sheilds aren’t in anymore.

Don’t get me wrong, I will by Halo 4 and most likely enjoy the campaign and Spartan Ops. However, multiplayer seems to be the weakest link of the game. But why is it that if I say I don’t particularly enjoy the features of Halo 4, you tell me to go to Halo 3? Even if I actually had any willingness to play Halo 3, a game that isn’t exactly the best Halo either, I am allowed to voice my opinion on Halo 4. As for the GotY part, I apologize, I didn’t notice the word “my” at first glance and thought you were one of the people with unrealistic expectations on Halo 4.

Yes you are allowed to voice your opinion and it’s greatly appreciated.

Read through this bulletin for your source. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think the biggest reason why people are so negative about halo 4 is because of reach. halo reach pretty much was a step backwards in many (but not all) regards. people just don’t want to go through the same thing they did with reach. even though reach failed to succeed halo’s legacy in halo 4 you see they’re copying some of the things from reach. now by no means was reach a complete failure, in fact it did some really cool things for the franchise, but copying things from it still makes me a little bit queesy.

another one of the things that really irks me is how much they’re changing halo 4 from the previous halo’s. we don’t want halo to end up like CoD is (currently) and do the same exact thing every year until we’re so jaded with the games that we won’t even put them in the disc tray.

however halo by no means needs to change so drastically; halo is an incredible franchise and has a great formula in which it prides itself on. halo 4 however seems to be doing something completely different then the other halo’s, even though this isn’t necessarily bad in any way (its what made MW1 such a success), the question is if its necessary and if it’ll actually be good for the franchise.

even though everything I’ve seen from halo 4 so far (except PV) seems to make sense and work theirs still a lot of stuff we haven’t seen (like forge) that makes me really wonder if halo 4 will not only be a great game, but if it’ll take the reins of the first trilogy and actually push the series forward.

All we can really do is pray that 343 knows what they’re doing and doesn’t essentially ruin what made halo great in the first place.
