Its going to sound like I’m bashing 343 here but at this point I would legitimately like to know why it’s so hard for them to get things such as weekend playlists right. In the update they said they are removing it for a few weeks based on feedback and then it’ll return after the new year I suppose. My question is why? Why not just implement things that were regarded as fun from the old halo days if you have nothing original to offer at the moment? Why not look to model your game off of past success so you can enjoy some of the same? And to set the record straight, no one really wants the same exact halo games from before. What we would like is a game that resembles the hard work, effort, and creativity that Bungie incorporated into their games. You had a grand chance to do this with halo 5.
As I’ve said, I love Halo 5s gameplay, both in Arena and Warzone. Breakout isn’t bad either. But as of now Halo 5 is the equivelant of Halo 3 minus theater, minus forge, minus the weekend double xp, minus social playlists… Like, come on 343. I’m docking a number from your name until you learn to give instead of take. From now on, you will be referred to as 33 by me and anyone else who cares. Seriously though, what’s up with not being able to look back and do what was once fun? You guys at 33 claim to have been halo fans just like us, but so far I’m gonna have to call bs on that as real fans know what the ladies (and gents) in the Halo community want and deserve.

Thanks! I’ve seen this but I think I’m going to reserve my judgement until after I see specific game types. If it’s just an unranked mirror of Arena then that’ll be good, but not good enough.
Apparently they added in Breakout Arena slayer for the weekend gametype.

I heard that they are using existing gametypes and planning to add new ones that Bravo had to hush hush about other wise he could be in some serious trouble or something when they first released details about CG

While that gives me hope, it does still frustrate me.
It seems to me that these weren’t in at launch was because they wanted to get the core game right, and get the other good stuff out in good quality soon afterwards too. A matter of achieving the deadline with a game that worked how it was supposed to. For example, If you stuck around for a long time in H4, weapon tuning (such as BR ttk) continued even a year after a release.
it seems a considerable amount of work went into balancing weapons, maps, movement, etc., compared to other Halo games.
I really hope that we see game types like Infection or OddBall, hell give me Rocket Race, after that short absence of weekend playlists.

They had 3 years, pretty much just like every other Halo game. Releasing with 50% or so content compared to previous installments is a travesty. The game offers so little and trickle feeding it to the players over the course of over half a year is not an admirable solution.
