When did all of this “halo 4 has to have sprint” stuff begin? What was so bad about the trilogy. People seemed to love them, thats what I remember. After reach, it seems a lot of people who never even played the first 3 have taken over. Halo doesn’t need to go the direction it is headed. The trilogy games were incredible. I can’t stand reach and don’t see why halo 4 is probably going to be a reach 2. I played hell out of every game and was very good at them. Now looking at the halo 4 gameplay, it actually makes me feel sad that this is the path halo has taken. I guess every game has to go mainstream someday…Well I have had my run with an amazing trilogy and it saddens me to think halo 4 will be like halo reach. Is that all people want in a game? To fill it with more stuff and make it random? For those who remember what this game was, please give a thank.

I bet it won’t be better than halo 2 or halo 3. They should have stuck with no sprint and made equipment better.

You can tell already, it looks just like reach.
We don’t know enough about gameplay to judge it. But as of right now, thanks to Reach. This will be the first Halo game that I might actually have to rent before I buy. Makes me sad. Plzz do well 343.

They even said this game will have faster gameplay. Its going to be better than any of you guys think.
Its not perks from Cod like everyone thinks also Sprint doesn’t break the game.
Its a new trilogy. We got to stop looking to the past and to start moving forward. As a starter to a new trilogy this game looks amazing.
I thought that at the beginning of the making of halo 4 said it may change I don’t know much on building game but could they be testing the game on halo:reach’s mutiplayer engine or whatever and there making a new one?

Halo was my first game ever, and halo 3 is my all time favorite. 343 should NOT through away the ideals of the original halo players for the new players. Loyalty. Something i have shown to halo. 343 should return the favor to so many fans who HATE AA’s. Halo was once a game were everyone started on the same foot, and had equal an importunity to do good in a game. And i’m not saying this because I suck at reach, I do pretty well for myself, and I continue to play it because its what I have now. If halo 4 is a halo reach remake I will have no part in it. 343 should remember why halo was great in the first place, don’t fix what isn’t broken.
To all saying that it’s a new trilogy, the series has evolved, and we shouldn’t look to the past, how the hell does adding sprint add anything to the game?
While I respect the creator of this thread’s opinion, you must understand that a great amount of fans disagree with you. For example, I HATE the title update in reach, and Im sure it lost in the voting on febuary 29th, but did 343 get rid of it? No they did the smart thing. They made seperate play lists to keep EVERYBODY happy, so there would be less people pissed off. Im sure 343 will do something similar in halo 4, with a ‘Load Out’ themed play list, and the opposite.
The only way I see Sprint working is if:
- Base movement speed is similar to Halo 2 / 3, NOT Halo Reach.
- Sprint grants a MUCH smaller speed boost than seen in Halo Reach.
- Sprint gets disabled as someone is shooting you.
Same goes for the jump pack.
Old Halo’s- competitive game play
Reach- unbalanced and gimmicky for kids.

Like you said, hopefully they stop listening to these kids who’s first Halo game was 3 or Reach. All they want is a pretty respawn screen to look at. The rest of us want a game that rewards you for being able to aim, time weapons and play smart.

Please just give sprinting a chance. We don’t if the sprint function is going to be EXACTLY how it was in Reach. For all we know, you may only use sprint for like 2 seconds just to get a small speed boost.
Same thing goes for the thruster pack. From the video, I saw the icon of the thruster pack with a fuel bar underneath the icon at 1:58. So I’m assuming that you can’t use the thruster pack for an infinite amount of times.
I for one HATED and I mean HATED every single armor ability in Reach but I am actually approaching Halo 4 with an open mind because I KNOW that Halo 4 will play much more differently than Reach did.
Just give it a chance with an open mind and wait for some actual concrete gameplay so you can make judgments accordingly.
I can’t wait for concrete gameplay to judge because by that time there is no use in conplaining if the game is already finished^
