in Wargames. Every kill is ten points and it takes 60 kills to win now in team slayer. Are there any bonus points added to the score for doing something special (splatter, multi-kill, etc.)? I’ve seen “+15” for certain kills, but I’m pretty sure they aren’t attributed to the game score, only towards your progression/xp.
It’s still X kills to win. The only points to count towards the team score are basic kills.
Anything else that gets you a medal also counts towards your personal score, which is what you can use to compare individual players post-game, and presumably your personal score is what earns you XP.
So basically, its still Slayer, but the personal score encourages players to perform better and get points for assists, headshots, multikills and so on.
However, stylish kills (like assasinations, headshots, melees) and assists (assists, distractions, wingmans etc) go towards your ordnance drop meter and not towards the points it takes to win.
For example: I earn a kill a which is a headshot. A kill by itself will be worth points (which goes to the team score) but since it was a stylish kill, i earn points that also go towards my next ordnance drop.

This is accurate.
60 kills to win in halo 4 team slayer / infinity slayer. each kill is 10 points and its 600 points to win In addition to that those “stylish points” you get not only go toward your ordinance drop but also go toward your spartan point bonus at the end of the game.

This.
That’s how I saw it also. I’d imagine it’d do towards the Spartan points you earn.

Haha basically it became a chore to play the game and its just not fun for me or my friends ESPECIALLY the psycho teams u always meet that make the game imppossible to enjoy -.-
There is a reason it fell so far on the xbox live charts and it hasnt even been out for a year yet haha. They didnt innovate with the game play after the first one. Halo is still alive and healthy on the charts beacause of its risks. I wish reach was implemented better but Halo 4 will be our next grand game for sure .

you’re thinking about gears of war 1 and 2, and ever since it went away from the so called gnasherfest that it was its been ALOT less intense and fun.
you could say that halo was just a BR fest but we all know how that would turn out.
as for you Tsumiya, well you’re one cool person so I’m not too surprised that I would meet you here. btw you always post in purple so its easy to distinguish you from others.

Haha there is no denying that the BR was very concentrated through the halo 2 and 3 but it was still diverse games with lots of fun crazy moments. Infection big team battle rumble pit snipers there are so many different ways to enjoy halo thats why its the only shooter me and my friends have been able to enjoy. the only thing crazy that happens in gears is impossible multi kills xD no really amazing unique moments.
And purple is my favorite color thats why i use it. People have PM me trying to make me feel bad for using it and i just tell them “Put me on your ignore list then lol” Im not going to not use my favorite color for some raging kids

I think that’s why a lot of people stopped caring for Gears multiplayer and usually only play Horde or Beast. They were just so tired of all the Gnasher rushers, limiting the game to one weapon that’s available on spawn on nearly every gametype. That’s why I always smiled whenever I hear complaints about the Double Barrel Shotgun. Because the Gnasher users were finally knowing what it felt like to be defeated by an OP weapon that limited the game and every rifle user was laughing.
Some time ago, there was a weekend special that removed shotguns from play. In all games I easily went 30/3, because while everybody else has been spending their years using only the Gnasher, I’ve been learning how to use the rifles and dominated them. The only time I died was by close range chainsaws. People left the match saying, “F- this rifle BS!”. Because they’ve been so spoiled over the years from the Gnasher that they couldn’t adapt without it.
Frankly, I think both shotguns should have been map pickups and the two weapon loadouts you could choose was 1 of the 3 rifles and 1 of the 3 pistols.

the reason why basing the game less around the gnasher and more around the rifle was a poor decision was because the rifles not only took less skill, they also weren’t as satisfying to get kills with or to get killed by.
you talk about how the shotguns are OP and everything but I honestly can’t remember the last I’ve had a fun game of gears of war 3 since well ever.
as for the sawed-off that thing is worthless, people complain about it because they get killed with it and nothing else.
@TsumiyaKuroneko, its weird that people would complain about your use of color, its just a really weird thing to complain about is all.
I’ve been thinking about changing my default font to something else for awhile but I for some reason or another haven’t gotten around to it.
it’s basicly like how everyone has explained it, and to be honest, Halo has always had point based scoring, the only difference between past scoring, and the scoring in the new point based gametypes, is in the past, if you scored, like killing someone, capturing a flag, holding a oddball or hill for one second, you’re awarded 1 point. But now with the new point based gametype, instead of a kill being worth one point, they’re worth more, and then every time you get a double kill, headshot, or something like those, you get a little extra points to your personal score. We’ve seen this in Halo 3’s, ODST’s, and Reach’s scoring mode for campaign and fire fight, but now they’ve added this scoring system, with a few slight tweaks to MP mode.

Actually, we also have that scoring system in Reach
The new scoring system isn’t in place as much for vanilla or Infinity slayer as it is for some of the other modes. Regicide in particular works much better (and maybe only) with the new format. Regicide is played not to a number of kills, but a number of points. Kills are worth 10 points, but assists are worth 5. Killing the “king” is worth more than 10 points, as well. This format wouldn’t work with a system where 1 kill = 1 point only.
I’d imagine the new format will be a boon to vanilla free-for-all, too. Plus, there’s no telling what other games people will come up with using the new system.
On top of all this, you want to have the same basic scoring framework across all modes. This is just a good design practice. Some players may not mind a switch in the scoring methodology from gametype to gametype, but most will find it mildly disorienting or at least annoying.
