Grenades now have the following table: 50% of the time they won’t deal damage, 20% of the time they’ll deal half a shield of damage, 20% of the time they’ll instakill through walls and the last 10% of the time they just disappear
Bullets have dealt damage for 20 years, they now only deal damage when they feel like it, despite the opponents head bobbing from the impact of said bullets
Walls have always prevented explosions and bullets
Player collision has always existed
Spawns now heavily favor 1 team instead of using the weighting the past games, excluding Halo CE
I just don’t get it. Was it too much fun? Did it make too much sense? Why have these core features and mechanics been removed?
Having a coinflip every time you hit someone isn’t a fun mechanic. I don’t know what kind of QA process the game when through, if any, but this should have been flagged.
100% agree. This game feels, sorta fun? But all the things that you expect from a halo game initially, are gone or changed arbitrary in the name of “accessibility” or monetization.
Why do we need a friend or foe system?
Why is there no player collision?
What happened to friendly fire?
Where did all the guns go?
Why doesn’t the plasma pistol emp?
Why are particle affects not as good as halo 3 or reach?
Why was the HUD changed?
The list could go on, and I don’t know why. It’s like I ordered steak and got chicken. Yeah it tastes fine, but it’s not as good or what I asked for.
Lol the curving bullets really got to me last night when the camera zoomed in the wall I was standing behind. I was hand motioning to the wall like “tf is this? Is this not a wall?”
Yeah it’s a sever issue rather than a gameplay design choice.
In past Halo games I would pick the option to join games with good connection. Sometimes you’d have to wait a little longer for matchmaking but at least you knew the server would be decent.
I don’t know why we don’t have that option anymore.
The game is clearly popular so the population size shouldn’t be a problem. Some basic functions like this shouldn’t be missing from the game when they were in past Halo games.
Yeah also noticed on BTB one side has BR in base spawns other team gets Commando in base spawns
Both bases should always have equal weapon spawns!
And before anyone adds, I know if you go out to the next weapon nodes the BR & Commando spawns are also reversed for each team
Every game of BTB its a 50/50 at the start if you go to a node will you get a BR or Commando .And just to add the Commando in its current state pff would rather keep my side kick, why is this weapon sharing nodes with the BR.
If the developers really just want to make their own thing then they should. If they were actually confident in it, then they wouldn’t need to use the name of an already successful franchise to bait people into thinking that they were going to play a Halo game.
Fair play to Microsoft for allowing them to throwing in such a money grabbing cosmetic scheme. Being fully aware of 343i’s blatant disinterest in making a Halo game, I would also strike while the iron is hot and grab a few dollars from every child and manchild’s parents’ credit card before that part of the population fizzles out.
If you have been shooting them but die and then they throw a grenade too close to themselves and die, it will register as you killing them with whatever gun you were shooting them with. And since you are dead, it will count as from the grave.
I get missing stuff like friendly fire. But game audiences change, and they probably know that they can expect a lot more griefing in a ftp game.
I’m not sure but being killed by a teammate was probably a mechanic that I can get by without in a pinch.
As far as bullets getting you through walls I feel like everybody should say where they’re playing and what their ping is when they make those complaints. Same for mutual beat-downs not going the way you thought they should. The faster connection is going to win on those.
My budget gaming pc with 40ish ping runs this game super well. My experience with pc gaming is that there are a ton of things that can go wrong on the client end, which isn’t 343’s fault.
